The adoption process is a slow one. Doesn't help that we had to fire our first attorney; however, our new one is GREAT! Had our home study last night, went really well.

We have a friend adopting a 10 year old girl also, she has the same birthday as Angela so we joke that they are sisters. Well when the home study lady was interviewing Angela she told her that she had two brothers (which is true) and a sister! At first I was like, she doesn't have a sister, and when I was told she said her sisters name was Natalee the light bulb went off on why she said that!

We are leaving for Dallas in the morning. Taking her to the Midieval Times castle place for a late lunch/early dinner because our flight to Hawaii leaves at 7:00am on Sunday and with the time change we are going to have to get up pretty darn early.

We are going to see our military friends that are stationed there. They have four little girls and they can't wait for us to get there and meet Angela. We got online and ordred a lei greeting at the aiport for Angela. Then found out last night that our friends plan to meet us there so the girls can give Angela a lei! I guess Angela can just feel extra special upon arrival!

We have her going to school and enjoying it but getting her motivated on homework is a whole other issue. Still trying to find that one thing that will click with her to make her realize just how important it is.

She is a very lucky little girl to have become part of such a wonderful family.

Hope you have a fabulous trip!

Here is a link to the blog for our trip. We had more pictures and video of the Medieval Times but somehow they got zapped off the sim card off the camera when transfering them, so the one video on there was all we have. Oh well we all have our memories of it.

Just keep on her about school and homework. Eventually it will click. It didn't happen for my older son until he was halfway through his junior year of high school but it did eventually click (boys can be a little hard-headed). Almost pulled out my hair in the meantime and it definitely got gray because of him.

Oh trust me, we stay after her on schoolwork. And both our moms are/were teachers so when she stays with them she gets even more school stuff.

We made it to Hawaii - what a long long day to get here, but driving with the top down from the airport to our friends sure made up for the long day.
