I'm looking forward to the tournament. We're taking off before the buttcrack of dawn on Wednesday. Anyone else here going?

I'd love to have gotten Mizzou instead of KSU, but KSU is beatable. I love the prospect of having BU 3rd round. What would be great is if Mizzou could upset KU and we could upset KSU; this would give us BU and Mizzou to play for the B12. Plus it couldn't be said that we didn't play anyone, we played a #2 NCAA seed less than an hour from their place.

There STILL hasn't been a Thursday player that has won it all. OSU has the 1st to get there in 99 as a 5 seed. Mizzou advanced in 03 but lost as a 5 seed.

OSU, KU and uo are the only three teams that have never lost a Thursday game, which makes sense when you see the all time records.

Baylor made it to the finals last year after starting on the first day of the tournament. They had that great run, but it was painfully obvious their legs were shot in the championship game.

I'm OK with that. The men's tournament and both cross-country championships are the only Big 12 titles Texas competes for that it hasn't won.

I think it is going to take a year in which two Thursday teams make it for that trend to be broken. It is just such a huge advantage to the top 4 seeds. So better start pulling for some other teams in the lower bracket in addition to us.
