View Full Version : My streak has been broken

Over the years, my schedule hasn't really allowed me to be the Poke fan I would like. One who attends all the home games, one who travels with the team, one who tailgates in the Posse parking lot every game. I have, however, had an unbelievable streak going as to the games I have attended both basketball and football.

Just a few examples- When we beat Nebraska for the first time in 40 years-I was there. When we managed to beat Tech the first year of Gundy-I was there. In fact the 2002 year was the year I got to attend most of the home games that year. My tailgating buddies had deemed me the good luck charm. It got to the point where the entire taligating area would cheer upon the sight of my car. I had not seen a Poke team lose live in person ever since I become a fan in the early 80's...until last night.

Don't take it too hard, John. All streaks must end.

(But please, whatever you were wearing last night--take it directly to the dumpster.) ;)

I realized when i got home that I'd forgot to put on my lucky socks! I'm the reason we played so poorly!

I think I wore my 'lucky' shirt one too many times. I bought it right at the start of our win streak and had worn it several times in a row. I should've switched back to the shirt I wore at the NU football game.

I have been to a ton of games. I just pick the good ones each year I guess. I will have to throw my shirt away or retire it to the pajama drawer. I betting on a huge tourney run, a historic run to the championship, something that has never been done by any Big 12 team. To play the first day and go on to win the whole thing.

It's totally my fault! The past 5 or so games, I have started watching at halftime. Not knowing the score, just starting at zero to zero and watching through to the end. It was working!!!

Last night I went to an OSU alumni watch party in Dallas. Never again!

I have some guilt here, too, long as we're using this thread as a confessional...

I usually strive to ignore really important games, but I couldn't resist checking the score at halftime. Go ahead--punish me. I deserve it.

I blame myself, I left on the OSU shirt I wore to work instead of changing into an OSU sweatshirt. That and I let my husband come to the game with me and mom!
