View Full Version : What a night for a DVR failure

For years, we've always been faithful about going to church, then getting together to watch a recording of the superbowl. With the advancement of DVR's, this has gotten increasingly easier to do almost to the point where we catch up live to the game.

BUT, tonight we all get settled in and I immediately start having problems with the recording freezing, then advancing a few seconds, freezing again, going a few minutes, freezing, etc.

I try re-booting the system (Dish VIP722) a couple of times with no improvement then about the third time, we lose the DVR entirely. It's like it's not there at all. We call Dish and give them the error code and they are like "dude we'll ship you a new unit". Didn't even try to walk me through any steps at all.

As many people that have told me about hard drive failures, I guess this is my first one. Sad thing is, I could have hooked up an external HD to this one and backed it all up.

Live and Learn.

So, who won?:D

Aints. Just proves OSU has a very possible chance to win the BCS national title.

Ha, ha... some "winners"... they went from frying (i.e. no coats) to freezing with no coats; and they're still in hell.

Very hard to see how that makes them winners... ;)

Glad to see some new blood win the Super Bowl though.
