7. Adarius Bowman, Oklahoma State
Position: WR
Coyle Position Ranking Before Combine: seventh
This big wideout may fall as much as any prospect after a surprisingly poor overall performance. He ran a poor 4.69 40 and managed only 14 reps in the bench press. He needs to regroup at his pro day.

That sucks. I sure hope he improves his stock before draft day. Even if he doesn't get drafted very high, I still think he'll be an asset to any team.

His pro day is going to be huge for him. Most of the top wr's were running in the 4.5 range and to come in that much slower plus with him having hands issues it's going to be tough for him to recover.

He will be one of those "steals" of the draft.
He will get overlooked because of his combine performance, some team will get him late, and he will tear it up come gameday.
I think they put entirely too much stock on the combine, and not on actual game film.
Bowman is going to be a great NFL WR. Wait & Watch!

Would be interesting to know his work-outs that he did too get ready for the combine

Doesn't sound like there were any. ;)

well the reason I asked was because usually these guys hire personal trainers who do drills/lifts/speed work designed for the NFL combine so they look better for the scouts.
So... just wondering if he hired someone who wasn't very good, if he just didn't do anything, or if he just worked on all the wrong things

This is sort of off the topic, but hearing the somewhat bad news about both Savage's and Bowman's performances going into the draft really make me think that a lot of our success on offense has been due to good QB play, blocking, and not least among them good offensive line play. It makes me feel better about our potential to continue to put up potent offensive stats. They really have played like a team.

I saw in one article a blurb that Bowman had elective Lasik surgery before the combine, which I guess affected his combine. Doesn't seem too smart to me.

He had the Lasik procedure before his Senior season and he talked about how much better he was seeing the ball.
I dont know why he would have somethiong done again....

Don't you have to get Lasik touched up from time to time? It was on CNNSI and it was just a blurb at the end of an article about the Combine, so I don't know anything other than that.

I must concurr and i tried warn the sunshine crowd that he had a bad time at both the combine and the senior bowl . I think Bowman will rebound and be taken in rd 5 or 6 hopefuly he will go in round 4 .
it didnt help his stock that our offense was under acheiving with the pathetic 5 yard toss outs on the line of scrimage . Gundy needs to have the offense throw deep so the receivers can put up better numbers and that will help a wr 's draft stock.

Think Gundy takes coaching advice from concussed illiterates?

You are absolutely nuts to think he will go in round 5 or 6. He will regroup, have a better showing at his pro day, and will still go on the first day.
