With Oklahoma State preparing to finalize its 2010 recruiting class, the
Denton (Texas) Guyer junior J.W. Walsh committed to OSU on Monday. Walsh chose the Cowboys over offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Baylor and others. Oklahoma, Texas, Florida, Texas A&M and UCLA were among several teams expressing interest.
Playing for his father John Walsh, the head coach at Guyer, J.W. Walsh put up stellar numbers in 2009. He passed for 2,600 yards and 30 touchdowns with just six interceptions. The dual-threat quarterback also rushed for 1,563 yards and 25 touchdowns.
New offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen visited Walsh last week and OSU offered him on Monday and Walsh jumped on the opportunity to become a Cowboy.
"He (Dana Holgorsen told me what he saw of me on film looked a lot like (Houston quarterback) Case Keenum," Walsh told the Denton Record-Chronicle. "When he told me that, it made me feel more welcome and like I fit better with the offense than I thought. There's nothing like hearing you fit the offense perfectly from the guy that's gonna call the plays."
interesting does he know something we don't know...
