I live on the nw side of Lake Hefner in okc. made a quick dash to wallyworld about 40 minutes ago; it's only 1 mile from my house. When I got home I had ice on my car and it wasn't raining that hard! The wind has really picked up and I am just watching the power lines swing in my backyard! I'm anticipating power loss.

Stay safe and inside!

Shut up Steve!:D

My boss told me to just stay home today, so I followed orders!

Norman Schools were out, so Rhonda is home too. Just sitting & waiting for the power to go out. ha ha

We ran into town to get some groceries, it wasnt too bad at that point, just raining. But, now the temp has dropped and ice is all over the vehicles, trees & powerlines. Ugh.

We've got nothing yet here in Stillwater. I'm going to duck out 11:30ish so I can go by Lowes to get a part for the generator then go pick Angela up from school.

I just saw the first drops of rain on the window at 11:10am today. And so it starts.

Boo Hoo........
You get 47 Federal Holidays a year!:vomit-smiley-001:

It has been raining here all morning. The trees and power lines are covered with ice. Just waiting for the power to go. Its been blinking. Ugh!

I guess the ground temp is still pretty warm, we have a crap ton of run off. If it all freezes tonight, it will be NASTY.

The wind hasn't been too bad here. We're getting a lot of sleet now, so hopefully no more freezing rain!!!!!

We've gotten some rain, but now it is just sleet coming down. Doesn't appear to be too much accumalation yet, but it just picked up so that may change rapidly.

No sleet yet just rain. Now Thunder & Lightning too! Woo Hoo!

Praise the Lord we still have power, but its been blinking. A good portion of Duncan has no power. My brother & Rhonda's parents live fairly close to each other and they are both out. Bad thing is we just took her Mom home from the hospital this afternoon, and within an hour they had no power. I hope it gets fixed soon because not only is she recovering, there are 2 babies in the house.

Pray for those without power, with this kind of cold it can get bad with no heat.

Luckily mom and dad still have power in Cordell.

We missed out on the ice & freezing rain. It sounds like Wichita Falls (45 miles north was getting some), but we just missed it, although we got at least 3 inches of rain.
I'll be praying for those of you affected by the ice.
Stay safe.

Sounds like things are pretty much at a standstill in Borger / Pampa - up where I work. Ice & sleet yesterday early, then just heavy snow and wind...upwards of a foot, and huge drifts. We shut the project down at the end of the day on Weds., told everyone to go home & return to work on Monday, so off to Whitesboro I went. So far no blinky lights here, though. Had LOTS of rain since before yesterday, and it's been snowing here today since about 10am. Four-day weekends aren't all bad, even with bad weather...unless the power goes.

Well, 26 hours later and still no power.

Woo Hoo!

Saw a convoy of power trucks driving north thru town earlier, they were from Pharr, Harlingen & Port Isabell Texas. So it looks like they called in the reinforcements.

It's like a family reunion....,
We're all at my sisters because they have a couple fireplaces & a gas water heater.

Fun fun!

We're lucky, the snow ended just an hour or so ago and all is clear now. We probably got 5-8 inches of snow on top of the ice. My car has around 1/4-1/2inch of ice on it. I'm not sure how we never lost power.

Power was out earlier today, but luckily, I was at work when it happened...opened the store up late today, because it took me well longer than I expected to scrape off my car, because my ice scraper broke mid-scrape...it's not fun just scraping off a thick layer of ice with just the end of the scraper while it jabs you in the hand and your gloves get wet meaning your fingers and hand gets numb from the cold...anyway, I digress...the ice wasn't all that awful in Norman, but we definitely got a good layering of snow on top of it...I pulled into the driveway when I got home from work and couldn't really go beyond a certain point because of the snow...

Hope everyone stays safe and warm...

We have a few homes over here that have lost power. Got a weird mixture of ice, sleet, freezing rain, and a tiny bit of snow yesterday. And there is a light snow coming down now.

For those of you that have lost power......I know your pain. Back in the 90's (when I was still married) we went for 8 days without power. One fireplace to keep warm and freezing temperatures. And an electric hot water heater. Within one month after that storm I changed out to a gas hot water heater and vowed that I would never never ever live in a house without a gas hot water heater again. There is just something about being able to take a hot shower that makes life bearable. Fortunately we had friends and relatives that only lost their power for a couple of days or it would have gotten real rank around there. :D

I feel for you folks. I really do.

Just got thru scraping the ice off my driveway. It is really cold out there. THere's about an inch of ice under the snow and it is slick once I got the snow off. Hopefully, the sun will meolt the ice today. The tractor has 4 wheel drive and i was still spinning a little going up hill with the blade down.

Started snowing here again just a little while ago. I didn't realize we were supposed to get any more snow.

Here's a few cool pictures from the past few days.

Here's a neat ice formation on my Dad's truck wheel

Here is my windshield Friday morning. My defroster had been running for 15 minutes and only thawed the bottom layer of ice and left a water pocket underneath. I broke my scraper like topdaug did.
