I now expect the Big 12 Standings to end like this:
1. Texas (13 - 3) Defeated Kansas based on head-to-head record.
2. Kansas (13 - 3) Lost to Texas based on head-to-head record.
3. Kansas State (10 - 6)
4. Baylor (9 - 7)
5. Oklahoma (8 - 8) Defeated Okla State and Texas Tech based on round-robin record.
6. Texas Tech (8 - 8) With Okla State, lost to Oklahoma based on round-robin record. Defeated Okla State based on record against #1 South Division teams.
7. Oklahoma State (8 - 8) With Texas Tech, lost to Okla based on round-robin record. Lost to Texas Tech based on record against #1 South Division teams.
8. Nebraska (7 - 9) Defeated Texas A&M based on head-to-head record.
9. Texas A&M (7 - 9) Lost to Nebraska based on head-to-head record.
10. Missouri (6 - 10)
11. Iowa State (4 - 12)
12. Colorado (3 - 13)
That would make the Brackets look like:
#8 Nebraska vs #9 Texas A&M winner vs #1 Texas.
#7 Oklahoma State vs #10 Missouri winner vs #2 Kansas.
#6 Texas Tech vs #11 Iowa State winner vs #3 Kansas State.
#5 Oklahoma vs #12 Colorado winner vs #4 Baylor
* Texas Tech winning yesterday was terrible for the Cowboys. That pushed Tech past us in the standings and knocked us down to the #7 seed facing Missouri, then Kansas in Kansas City. Terrible. I would have liked our chances MUCH better had we been the #6 seed facing Iowa State, then Kansas State.
* Were the Cowboys to end at 9-7, that would place the Pokes #4 ahead of Baylor (all else being equal).
* I'm still expecting the Cowboys to be NIT bound.
