No. 21 Cowboys clobber Northwestern

O-State improves to 6-0, trounces the Wildcats 13-3.
Oklahoma State is off to its best start in more than a decade after a 13-3 win over Northwestern Friday at Red McEwen Field.
With the win, the 21st-ranked Cowboys improved to 6-0, marking their best start to a season since 1995, when they won 11 in a row to open the year.
Rebel Ridling and Donnie Webb each collected three hits for the Cowboys. Pitcher Tyler Lyons improved to 2-0.
Lyons picked up his second win of the season, pitching a career-long six innings, allowing just one run and also set a personal best with six strikeouts.
Ridling finished 3-for-4 for with a pair of RBIs, while Webb was 3-for-5 and drove in three runs. Hague also had three RBIs for the Cowboys.
OSU returns to action against Northwestern at 2 p.m. Saturday. The Cowboys close out the weekend in Tampa at 11 a.m. Sunday.
Rice 7, Oklahoma 2: No. 15 Rice increased its win streak to four games and halted Oklahoma's win streak at three by beating OU at Minute Maid Park in Houston.
Rice (4-2) out-hit the 3-2 Sooners 12-5.
"It's no secret that we didn't put forth our best effort today," OU coach Sunny Golloway said.
The Sooners had the opportunity to break through in the fourth and did score on Berry and the Owls.
Consecutive singles by Spencer Selby, J.T. Wise and Matt Harughty loaded the bases. Freshman Casey Johnson drove in OU's first run by drawing a bases-loaded walk.
A wild pitch on a strikeout to pinch hitter Mike Gosse scored the Sooners' second run and cut the lead in half. However, OU squandered the opportunity to tie the ball game or take the lead and stranded two bases runners to end the frame.
ORU 10, Le Moyne 3: Right-handed pitcher Jerry Sullivan struck out a career-high 12 batters and Brian Van Kirk went 4-for-4 with an RBI as Oral Roberts University defeated Le Moyne at J.L. Johnson Stadium.
With the win, the Golden Eagles improved to 5-0 for the first time since 1994 while the Dolphins fell to 2-3.
Sullivan (2-0) lasted eight innings, scattering six hits and allowing only two earned runs. Newcomer T.J. Kelly saw his first action of the season by relieving Sullivan before the ninth. Kelly forced a pop-up and struck out two batters swinging.
ORU and Le Moyne play the middle game of the three-game series at 2 p.m. Saturday.
