Coach ...your thoughts?

Coach...season is over, ended on a sour note but what do you actually expect for next year? The recruiting class looks great , so far on paper, and now even without Mr. White (think he jerked us around because his recruiting coach at OSU thought we had him, maybe they all do???)?

Will Bill Young stay put?

JBug.. couple of thoughts for you...

1. The new cowboys stadium is impressive... I personally, as well as CanadianCowboy, were just amazed at the detail and the size of everthing in the stadium... In fact, I was looking at the video board thinking --almost 12,000 square feet in area, that is enough to put 9 of my houses in!!-- I'm not a fan of Jerry Jones but well done... large stadium with really no HORRIBLE seats...

2. We ended the year on course for what the rest of the year was likefor us... no many teams had to go through what OSU (and OU) had to go through this year.. you think Texas would be in the National Title game losing Shipley (best WR), their best RB, and some key defensive people... nope... It was a tough year because so much was put on us this year (all the hype).. if we were expected to be horrible then it would be considered a great year... so take it in with the idea that yes our OFFENSE stunk and yes Robinson looked horrible this year compared to last year... AND Gundy does need to let someone else call the offense... but WE DID MAKE IT to the Cotton Bowl... and played a good Ole Miss team that some thought would win the SEC this year.

3. I think if Weeden (I know Robinson was not as good this year but I will still miss him and think he is a stud overall - he did some big things for us in his career) can fill in and do some similar things that Robinson use to do (run productively, not make bad decisions, find a go to guy) then we can be alright..
Key is to get Kendall Hunter back and hope he stays healthy... Find a good #2 QB behind whoever is the starter (probably Weeden), and replace a bunch of the Defensive Secondary... we lose Cox, Anderson, Sexton,etc... we need to keep this momentum going on the defensive side...

IF (big IF) Weeden can find a groove and if Hunter and someone like a Toston can back him up..then I think we have enough decent WR's to be a threat (not a powerhouse, but a threat) to score some points...

IF we can replace the DB's and some key LB's then we can still be an average or slighty better average Defense as long as Young stays around.. WHICH I THINK HE WILL for a couple more years... Had too much success with this years defense to leave now... and it is his "dream job" to return home.

I can see us struggling at first but still getting into a lower tier bowl game like an Independence Bowl or a Sun Bowl type Bowl.... Maybe 7 wins

Just my thoughts.. I could be totally wrong.

Oh yeah and Antonie coming back (if he can get an extra year for medical hardship) would really help out.

Any thoughts on the Bill Young deal? He was my neighbor years ago and I just liked him then and still think he is a good person and a very good coach.

Also...we were saving a spot for White (ah no longer needed) so will we try to get all this batch or over sign? Your thoughts?

Your take on the Young rumors...and possible effect on Mr. B (The Man DT from Tulsa area)?

What are the Young rumors? I live in East Texas... I don't get much OSU information ...

Coach...radio/Tulsa world, few other suggestions/reports that Young is being courted by a 'few'...meaning more than one schools as D Coord.

A&M was one of the schools pointed out???

There are no Young rumors.

There were some papers that suggested that there were some teams that might like to talk to him.

Young said he's staying at OSU.

Gundy said we are proactive in our staffing retention practices.

.... Lordy Cali , rumors that there might be rumors (known in the trade as RTTMBRs)?? These are like coach Stoops associates on the coaching tree ....vicious (hit players, talk evil to them, lock them in closets, etc.,etc)....
Hope Gundy is correct and that all his chicks are accounted for and in the hen house. We need stability for about 10 years (IMO)... DOWN with RTTMBRs!!!!!
