Let's hope it's not too serious. Please, let's not take the bad luck from football and carry it over to the hardwood.

Can we not go one calendar year without an athlete getting arrested??
It's so damn commonplace now.
Ridiculous and embarassing.

Why can't he be smart and use the stuff that is much more damaging to your decision making that the USFDA has approved of like Xanax, Welbutrin, Zoloft, Prozac, Paxil, and Lamictal....

I thought it was approved for medicinal purposes?
It's jyst illegal for recreational use. And of course opperating a motor vehicle under the influence of it or prescribed meds for that matter.
Until it's legalized it's ilegal. It's cut & dry Lewis.
This isn't about the merits or the harm of marijuana.
It's about being stupid and breaking the law.

agreed, if he was using it and operating a motor vehicle, that is akin to public endangerment, if he was pulled over, and had it in his car, without being under the influence, I feel he is OK.
I could not determine from the Tulsa World, if he was under the influence, or why he got pulled over.
From what I determined it was routine traffic stop, but he was not charged with driving under the influence. If he happened to have the substance in his car, he did nothing wrong in my view.
If he was driving while stoned, he is an idiot, and deserves the book thrown at him, especially in light of Eddie Sutton's situation.
Ben, it's legal here. I could buy some legally within the hour if I wanted to. (I'm glad, too. Prosecuting and imprisoning people for marijuana crimes is a GIGANTIC waste of resources.)

I thought california only legalized it for medicinal use?

Yes, but there's an entire cottage industry of doctors who will prescribe it instantly if you mention that you have, say, frequent upset stomach problems. Some of the places that sell medical mj have a doctor on site for instant prescrips. They also have a wide array of different varieties of mj with different properties, depending on what your medical complaint is. It's crazy.

Falsified prescriptions.....
No wonder so many "celebs" are dropping dead.
And just think, under obamacare, you can get high for "free".

We are too busy building a ten commandments monument on capitol grounds that will 100% be challenged in court and then be removed to consider decriminalizing possession. Plus, we are the reddest of the red states. Possession of marijuana and decent beer will be illegal here forever because they...umm....because Jesus.

If you don't like it, leave. If you want to change it, run for office.
I don't appreciate you taking shots at Christianity every time you make a post.
Give it a rest.

The world would be a lot better place if people were abiding by the 10 commandments instead of trying to get them torn down.
By putting them up and teaching people what they are, maybe it would help someone that was unaware of them become a better person.

I can't possibly express enough how much I don't care what you think.
Meanwhile we have a player that was arrested for something that isn't illegal in more progressive states because our drug and alcohol laws are the way they are because...well, they've always been that way.
Folks, this debate is quickly becoming non-sports. I'm going to leave it here for now since at least the title of the thread is about sports, but if you want to debate religion (and you are welcome to do that, btw, as long as you follow the forum rules), please do so on the non-sports board.
I'm requesting that any further posts be confined to remarks about Marshall Moses or the basketball team.

Amen... Glad you said something BBB, after reading his comments what I would have said would have gotten me in a lot more trouble...
How you going to bash people's religion on a sports board... good grief... Anyway, it is illegal because THE LAW says it is... has nothing to do with anything other than that... He broke THE LAW and so he has to pay for it...
I am shocked actually that he is only getting one game.

Hey I got a speeding ticket 3 years ago in Oklahoma. I shouldn't have gotten that because in Montana there is no speed limit. So I'm going to gripe and complain about the state I live in... BLAH BLAH BLAH..... It's because we're so conservative.... BLAH BLAH BLAH.... MOVE TO A MORE LIBERAL STATE IF YOU DON'T LIKE OUR LAWS AND OUR VALUES!!!!!!!!
Same to be said about people who don't like America.... GET THE HELL OUT IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT!!!!!!
And to keep this on topic, Marshall should not have been doing something illegal if he didn't want to get in trouble. Eventually its going to catch up with you.

It IS illegal, unless you have a prescription... I don't think he had one.
it's just plain STUPID to be driving around on a suspened license with illegal stuff on you... just plain stupid.
couldn't he have done that stuff at home and caught a ride where ever he needed to go? just stupid.

So why is pot illegal?
Agree with Cali Cowboy though. If you have a suspended license you should not have the green on you in your car too. DUMB DUMB DUMB.

I think Pot should be decriminalized.
I think college athletes should be smarter than they are.
I wish I was smarter than I am.
I would like to take back some of my mistakes.
I believe in the 10 Commandments.
I think Travis Ford's handling of this is spot on.
I wouldn't want to be Moses in practice the last few days.

"The word family, when you're around teams, is used very loosely all the time," the coach said. "I look at it that way. These are my kids. When I got the phone call I went there immediately. I want him to know that he's going to be held accountable. And we're here to support him at the same time. I told him, 'I'm not going to just throw you out to the sea and let you swim by yourself. We're going to make you learn your lesson. And you need to become a better person for this.' And sometimes you need a kick in the head. There's no excuse what he did. He just needs to learn from it."
Amen, Travis. Amen. More worthwhile quotes in the article as well.
