So Craig Jame's son was stupid enough to let this happen twice?

Its got to be hard to recruit when you coach by locking a kid in a closet.

ESPN radio reported that Leach's 800k bonus is paid out Dec 31st. Wonder if they will get rid of him before they have to pay it.

Or coach by not noticing your freakin' qb sustains a sprained ankle early in the game and you ride 'im into the ground with an offensive game play drawn up on an Etch-a-sketch because you're too stupid/incompetent to change/fix it!:ex_omg:

Players that are too injured to practice, usually have to sit on the bench, ride a bike on the sideline, or lounge in the training room/whirpool room, etc. I would say they are close to the practice field doing any of the above. Leach seems to want to turn an injury into punishment time. Players are going to suffer some injuries. That's just the nature of the game. A player should not be punished for a football injury that could not be avoided. Leach has always done some strange things but this one may send him into retirement.

The bad news is that Leach has damaged his stock so no other school will hire him from TT. The good news is that TT may have to let him go. We know he is a good coach and recruiter but that didn't save Woody Hayes, Bob Knight, Big Mac Mangino, and a few other good coaches.

His lawyer will really earn his money if he can spin this around and get Leach reinstated for the Alamo Bowl. I'm not going to hold my breath on that one.

hmm. Delans Griffin from Clinton has committed to TT. I wonder if that will hold now.

Kind of makes you wonder how many other players have had problems but don't have the family stroke to get something done. In Delans's case, who's he going to tell if he is mistreated that can get someone at TT to listen to them? His grandmother? Doubt she has much pull.

Leech is a good coach on the O side, but yep he's damaged goods and needs to be kept under control. Maybe if a school needed just an O coordinator, one who knew the Big12 texas area,etc....Hmmmmm,Leech's O with Youngs D,with Gundy in control..... ok,ok I was just thinking. :)

l like it, but I don't think we could afford him and I don't think he'd want to be just an o-coord.

Is that going to be the "move" now? Sounds awfully similar to KU's recent ploy to get rid of an expensive coach.

Leach or James is probably out of there. My guess is James would go to TCU or Houston in another conference if Leach stays.

Both will happen. Leech is toast and James will not be able to play there anymore. SMU would be possible, if they are 'back'.

Seems like there's something fishy going on here.

And Tech is crazy--they'll never get another coach as good as Leach. They should hold onto him.

I think you're right, but don't tell this to any Tech administrators. I think they've been trying to get rid of Leach for a few years now, but don't know how to go about it. He's been too successful. You can't fire a coach who wins year in and year out, and who has a good record vs. Texas and ou. But now they have some ammunition, and I wouldn't be surprised if he's gone before the bowl game.
I doubt he'll go quietly, though. His attorney is supposed to argue for a Temporary Restraining Order in court tomorrow. This TRO would allow him to coach Saturday.

I think you may be right 76374. That is a pretty conservative area of the country out there among the nothingness. The Pirate thing and the other weirdness he exhibits may have some questioning their decision to hire him in the first place. They want to be taken seriously as a university but when TT is mentioned the first words out of people's mouths is "oh yeah, the place with the weird coach".

Has anyone seen the emails from the other players and coaches on this team concerning the James kid, specifically his attitude and work ethic?

I don't have a link, but I've seen them, and if they are authentic they are pretty telling.
