I wish it meant that America's obsession with it was going down, but I don't think that's the case.

As usual the one I want to win probably won't win. Carly is who I am pulling for, but I am sure there is no way they'd put someone that tatted up as the Idol. I always pull for the odd ones, and other than that Soul Patrol guy it always ends in disappointment.

I've tried ignoring you Lewis for 12 years and yet you are still around. Idol's not going anywhere. The thing is it's fun family entertainment. I can generally watch the show with my daughter, along with Dancing with the Stars, and not worry too much about what she's going to be expossed to.
As far as who I like I'm pulling for Asia'h or however you speel her name. Like her look, voice is different but still good. None of the guys have really impressed me. I'm ready for the skunk girl to fade away.

The 2 guys going home are the guy from the accapella (sp?) group that sang Queen and the goofball with the stupid blond streak in the front of his hair.
The 2 girls, I dunno... I think the rocker chick was completely awful even tho I really like her. I also think the blonde from Tulsa was horrid. Those would be my 2 best guesses, tho it seems hot chicks tend to stick around longer than they should.
My fave by far is Carly (the Irish chick) and wife's is, of course, the little 17-yo kid who sang Lennon.

My favorites are Michael Johns, David Hernandez and David Cook for the guys and Carly Smithson, Brooke White, Syesha Mercado and Ramiele Malubay. I think the kid, David Archuleta, is good but he is not the best singer and does not have the best voice. I refuse to pull for the singer that Randy, Paula and Simon are going to try and push through. Sorry David A.

The last two girls were the worst of that group last night, though I give credit to the girl who sang "All By Myself" for the effort. Unfortunately, she sucked on the most important part of the song (all the low notes).
I'm not 100% sure on the guys because I missed most of them performing the other night. I did catch David and thought his rendition of "Imagine" was awesome. Not sure if he will make it far if he reaches the Top 12, though.

Try watching CSPAN with your kids,
I rarely watched Idol, and won't ever watch any channel by News Corp. until they publicly address the hatchet job they did in the Republican Primaries.
F/X (which I love), Fox, Fox Sports or any other subs.

I don't think ANYONE needs, or is interested in, lessons from you on how to raise kids Lewis. In fact, I'm pretty sure of it.

He was looking for something family friendly. I gave advice, not a lesson :)
Much like I doubt anyone needs you speaking for them, I assume :D

BS. You mocked the show. Inky said he watches it with his daughter and doesn't have to worry about content. Not once did he ask for alternatives. You just imagined that and saw it as another chance to show us what a free-thinking renaissance man you are. Like I said, BS.
"The thing is it's fun family entertainment." That's what he said. Last I checked, C-SPAN is at the opposite end of "fun family entertainment".

Getting back ON TOPIC
Robbie's mane ain't all it's cracked up to be:

I thought it had already been brought up that Robbie used to sing back up or something with NSync or something like that? Doesn't shock me that the guy is trying to distance himself from that by whatever means necessary :)
I just don't get the chick with Elvira hair. But everyone has their core group so maybe she's got plenty out there to keep her around until it gets serious.
Yeah, I really don't think a 5 year old is going to get much, if anything from watching C-SPAN. One day if you should ever reproduce (against all objections by humanity) you will realize that sometimes just watching a show with your kid that is people singing (fully clothed for the most part) can be fun and enjoyable. Same goes for Dancing with the Stars. I watch that show with my daughter and we dance together on every song. Sure it's cheesy but you know what, for her it's something she looks forward to and eventually when she's older hopefully she remembers the time we spent together. Now I don't know if we'd be able to have the same good time together watching Jim Webb ramble on about his friendship with Chuck Hagle. I don't think she's look back fondly on those times, however she might remember how we danced together.

Robbie is completely fake. He has no passion for real rock and roll at all.
I believe he was in a boy band that OPENED for N'Sync or something like that.
Carly was known as Carly Hennessey and had an album on Geffen, Kristi Lee Cook was known as Kristi Lee and had an album from a label in Nashville. Michael John was known as Michael Lee and was the lead singer in two signed bands called The Rising and one called Film.
You can get videos of them singing as these names on Youtube.

Not completely true.
Carly was signed to MCA Records in 2001 when she was 15 and did release an album.
MCA had management and structure issues and was absorbed by Geffin in 2003. Geffen declined to resign her.
I thought didn't disagree with the girls going home, but I didn't think Robbie should have gone home. He was a good singer. The judges simply didn't want him around any longer and kept sabotaging him.

Come on, CaptMike! Robbie didn't inspire anyone with his attempts at singing rock. He had no pizazz or presence on stage. If he was a good singer, then he should have tried something else.
I was suprised our Oklahoma girl went home. I can't believe skunk hair woman is still around. Her act has gotten really old. I'm afraid those people who like to sabotage A.I. are going to keep voting her through.

What??? How can the judges sabotage anything at this point? The rules of the game by now are that he with the least votes gets booted. If the judges didn't like his performance, it's their opinion. If the AI audience didn't like it, bye bye Robbie. I thought he changed the key of the Foreigner song way, way too low and did a lackluster job performing it.
But then again, I grew up listening to that music and I occasionally sing it now and I'm a bit biased toward the original. That's the crap of going up and doing covers week after week. You're either going to pick a bad song for you (great singer comparison) or you're going to pick a bad song (no one cares about). It's tough to find the right thing from week-to-week with the theming that show likes to do.

Originally i liked the rocker nurse, but after listening to her the last few weeks, and watching the way she handles herself, i dont see her making it very long. She's not marketable at all, and i don't think she has near the talent as some of the girls. That whole curling up the lip thing will only go so long before people start to get irritated with her.

Absolutely the judges can affect the voting, and they do it every single show. It's usually quite obvious which singers they would "prefer" get through and which ones get booted by the way they present their reviews of the performance. It is very clear how they are trying to sway the votes.
I can tell you for a fact that Simon is already giddy with the expectations of selling David Archuletta to bunches of screaming 13 year old girls.

Hey! It's better than hearing about her Suzuki! :D
I like rock but I think her voice has gone from raspy to really strained. She probably should have gone one week ago. She lost me when she started scatting in the middle of the song. I just didn't get it, as Simon would say.

Little Davey Boy will be selling millions of albums despite the conclusion of this show. Being named the Idol is a sure-fire route, but he's a very marketable talent already, much like Carrie Underwood was. Some forces just can't be held back. The world has seen him and he's only going to get more appealing as he grows older. The kid's got MAJOR talent.
I currently expect he and Carly Smithson to cruise through to the final four. They are, hands down, the best vocalists on the show this year.

I think he has more of the total package and appeal but Michael Johns is way better singer than David Archuleta. I'm hope it is between David, if not Johns, and Carly because Carly will blow him away. She's so much better than David.

Ok,ya know I gotta chime in on this,my favorite non OSU subject. I'll actually be doing my little weekly recap and all once we get to the top 12,as thats when it gets started for me, but I will tell a few of my quick thoughts are.....
. Yep,I liked rocker nurse at first, but it's grown old quick, look for her to leave next week.
. Little David is talanted for his age,and should do well.
. I'm not a Carly fan,and hope she has a surprising early exit, for a few resons.
. The one thou,I cannot stand this year is Danny Norigia. Lil whiny gay asian is already on my last nerve with his lack of talent and attitude.
. I really like Brooke White's "Your so vain".
Again,I'll go more in depth when it really starts in a few weeks.
Till then, aggie out!
