OSU Notebook: Divine Intervention

OSU lost six consecutive games earlier this season. Now the Cowboys have won four straight league games and two consecutive road games for the first time since the 2004-05 season.
"I've been going to church and praying for our team and praying that things get better for us," Byron Eaton said. "As soon as I went to church, the next game things started going well for us."
Maybe OSU should pray before every trip to Missouri.
The Cowboys have played in Columbia 50 times and won only seven. They won there Tuesday night for the first time since 2000.
Say what?: Eaton, who made a game-winning shot with 1.7 seconds left, strolled to the student section afterward and cupped his hand to his ear.
What point was he trying to make?
"Throughout the game, they were saying some mean things," he said. "I'm used to it, going to a hostile environment. My freshman year, when I came in here and it was our first road game and I ain't never heard anything like that in my life, some of the things they were saying.
"So I was just getting fed up with it. Every time I hit a shot, I would look at a person saying something. Then after I hit that last shot, I just wanted to hear what they had to say then. It's something I shouldn't be doing, but you know how something just gets up under your skin and you just have to do something? So I think that's why I did it, but I really didn't need to do that, so I'm going to apologize to the coaches and my teammates for doing that thing. That's very unprofessional what I did."
Lineup change: For the first time this season, freshman guard James Anderson did not start. He was the first player off the bench, subbing for Obi Muonelo at the 16:47 mark of the first half, and scored eight points in the next four minutes.
Sean Sutton said Anderson did not start because he was a couple of minutes late for a Tuesday morning film session. Sutton also suspected that bringing Anderson off the bench might relax him.
"I thought he came in and made some big shots," Sutton said.
He's back: Terrel Harris started for the first time since a Jan. 26 home game against Texas A&M and scored OSU's first four points. Harris played only 17 minutes because of foul trouble, but still scored 15 points.
"He got off to a good start," Sutton said. "Sometimes that's what happens with players."
Rookie watch: Anderson's first basket of the game, a 3-pointer, allowed him to pass Corey Williams and move into third place on OSU's freshman scoring list.
U-turn: OSU is 1-2 in ESPNU-televised games, including first-round NIT losses against Miami, Fla., in 2006 and Marist in 2007. The Cowboys are 2-9 this season in games on ESPN or ESPN2.
Foul play: Missouri's free throw defense is apparently pretty good. Colorado did not shoot a free throw in a Saturday loss at Mizzou Arena. OSU did not shoot its first free throw Tuesday until 8:44 before halftime.
