I found it excellent and dark at the same time. It's a dark film about a kidnapping in South Boston.

The two better established actors Morgan Freeman and Ed Harris took smaller secondary roles, but performed up to their usual standard.

I was surprised Casey Affleck could carry a movie. Even more surprised Ben Affleck directed it. It was damn good. Amy ryan the mother of the kidnapped baby made me want to puke.

Lehan ,the author, also wrote a book called Shutter Island which will be made into a movie directed by Scorcese, staring Leo Dicaprio, Mark Rufalo, & Ben Kingsley.
