In surfing through the boards recently, someone had as a signature (I think), a speech, quote, or part of a speech that I need to rediscover.
It talked about getting knocked down, getting back up, having given it your all and basically leaving it all out there on the field. Something along those lines.
Seems like it might have been attributable to a coach or a president.
I've done some googling with Rockne and Lombardi - couldn't find anything.
Hopefully, someone here will recognize and remember what I'm referring to.
Thanks in advance.

Found it
The credit in life goes not to the critic who stands on the sideline and points out where the strong stumble. But rather, the real credit in life goes to the person who's actually in the arena. Who's face do sweat and dust mar. Who knows great enthusiasm and great devotion and learns to spend himself or herself at a worthy cause. If they win, they know the thrill of great achievement, and if they lose, at least they lose while daring greatly so that their place in life will never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat.
Paraphrased from Theodore Roosevelt

Check out this link http://grfx.cstv.com/schools/okst/graphics/wallpaper/football/dez-w-1920.jpg
It has the quote in question with a picture of Dez. There are several additional pictures along with great quotes at http://www.okstate.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/okst-m-footbl-wallpaper.html. I just wish I could get these pictures on posters to frame and put in my office just to prod my boss and coworkers (though they are good guys that actually graduated from uO).
I like the one wallpaper with Andre Sexton with the quote "Courage is being scared to death but saddling up anyway." from John Wayne.
