Hardeman anticipates Bedlam

Oklahoma State junior Taylor Hardeman and her teammates have been on the receiving end of some lopsided losses in Norman.

"Some were brutal," Hardeman said Wednesday night following the Cowgirls win over Texas.

But she has a special incentive for Saturday's 1 p.m. game at the Lloyd Noble Center.

Her grandmother, Margaret Aust, will get to see Taylor play in a Bedlam game.

"Winning in Norman would mean the world to me," Hardeman said. "My grandmother lives in a nursing home and wasn't able to come to the game in Stillwater. The one thing she wanted to see was us beat OU."

A Norman native, Hardeman grew up watching her older sister Sunny play for the "Crimson and Cream."

Early during her recruiting Hardeman was targeted by OU coach Sherri Coale.

"I was in the beginning," Hardeman said. "But when it came down to the wire, she (Coale) just never said anything to me. I really didn't want to follow Sunny. I'm not a person who does what the crowd does. I was looking to get out of Norman. I think every kid wants to get out of town for school."

"I grew up about 10 minutes from Lloyd Noble. Even when Sunny played, I never wore OU shirts. I would wear white, and I think I wore one maroon shirt. Sunny would give me a hard time but she knew I didn't want to limit my chances because I was in high school and I didn't want people thinking I was going to OU and not to recruit me. I'm glad I got other offers."

With an 82-66 win in the Bedlam series in Stillwater last month, Hardeman is looking forward to going home on Saturday.

"It's been my dream since I came to Stillwater to beat OU," Hardeman said. "We finally did that. It was the best feeling in the world. I think it will hype us up even more going into their place.

"It will be nice to see how many orange fans show up, if any. My friends have already told me they couldn't get tickets."

Double-double times 10: Courtney and Ashley Paris recorded double-doubles in the same game for the 10th time in their careers.

Courtney has 85 consecutive double-doubles and 90 overall, while Ashley recorded double-doubles in three of the last four games.

Win No. 400: Oklahoma State coach Kurt Budke picked up his 400th career victory Wednesday in the Cowgirls' 71-66 win over Texas.

"I'm really one of those people that I've had a lot of great players over the years," Budke said. "It's really been a privilege coaching those kids. . . . It's never been and never will be a one-man show."

Back on track: Oklahoma sophomore Jenna Plumley appears to be getting back on track from 3-point range. She had three Wednesday night to help in Oklahoma's 68-65 win over Kansas State.

Moving up: OSU sophomore guard Andrea Riley continues to move up the career scoring chart. Through Wednesday, Riley has scored 947 points in 56 games and needs just three points to move into 17th place in career scoring.

Big winner: Former OSU student Lonnie Brickman won $10,000 during the halftime contest of the Texas-OSU women's basketball game in Stillwater.

Brickman hit a layup, free throw and half-court shot on consecutive attempts in just 20 seconds. The contestant has 30 seconds to attempt the feat.

Good Works Team: Oklahoma State senior Danielle Green was named to the Big 12 Winter Sports Good Works Team for her contributions off the court in community service.

Texas' Earnesia Williams, a former Sapulpa standout, also was named to the Good Works Team.

Can you blame her?
