That's impressive! Will that put OSU around 13th in the BCS?

probably 15 +1 or -1. It probably does put us in the Cotton Bowl against Les and LSU. That would be a sweet win.:action-smiley-033:

Here's one prediction that has OSU vs Mississippi in the Cotton Bowl.

That sounds good to me. It looks like the SEC has an agreement with the Capitol One Bowl.

This is the thing that disturbs me ... the ranking history through the season. It really shows how the name of your school has as much to do with ranking as your performance in the game, if not more so:

WOW! USC fell hard. I didn't expect them to fall THAT much

If we win out & Texas plays for the NC, we are BCS bound.

Cotton Bowl is fine, but I want the BCS!

Just looking at the folks above us;

1) I think we'll pass Penn State if we keep winning

2) LSU is not eligible for the BCS (if Florida and Alabama are in)

Which puts us at 11 with 10 BCS slots

3) Pitt, Oregon and the two non-BCS teams are the wild-cards (and winning out)

If Pitt loses to Cincy, then we should pass them; if they win, we're in trouble

If Stanford wins the Pac10 we could be in trouble with Oregon possibly still in the mix.

Would the BCS selectors pass on an UNDEFEATED team of the TCU/Boise magnitude? Boise has been there recently, where as, we have not (and they won).

Well the BCS rankings are out and we are in a sweet spot at number 12. Since LSU is one of the teams ahead of us and cannot be in the BCS that only leaves on team for us to get ahead of to be in a BCS bowl just on rankings. That one team would be Pitt so we need to be rooting for either WVU or Cincy to beat them and I just don't see them winning both of those games so it is looking better and better for us to get a BCS bid. Remember their are basically two slots available for us so even if they take two non BCS teams (which to me looks like a certainty at this point) then we still have one more to grab...

gotta look BEHIND us too... Stanford is climbing fast and could get the Pac10 automatic with a win over Cal. That would leave us battling with Oregon for a spot.

Who have we beaten that is really worth a darn?

The only teams currently ranked that we've played are Houston and Texas and we lost both of those.

Not trying to be a downer; just looking at the reality of where we're at and what's still ahead of us.

True CC, but Cincinnati and Pittsburgh haven't played a team that is currently ranked. They also really haven't played anyone worth a darn. Unless WV gets their act together, the only ranked opponents that Cincy and Pitt will have played are each other, and one will have to lose to the other in their last game.

The only way Stanford wins the Pac-10 is if Oregon loses a game.

Yeah, I know, but they still play Arizona and Oregon State (both ranked last week), who are the two teams that beat Stanford.

If OSU beats Oregon in their Bedlam game, then it would be a 3-way tie... with 5 ranked Pac10 teams... all bets may be off.

I'm not sure how to read what the BCS might do (with OSU) in that situation.

And we can take great pride in the fact that another team from Oklahoma is still getting votes even though they aren't in the Top 25.
