OSU's Eaton Big 12 Player of the Week

Oklahoma State point guard Byron Eaton was named the Big 12 men's basketball Player of the Week on Monday.


Eaton, a junior from Dallas (Lincoln), averaged 21 points in OSU's wins over Baylor and Texas A&M last week. He matched his career-high with 25 points against Baylor and added eight assists, five rebounds and three steals.

He then led the Cowboys to their first road win in more than two years at Texas A&M with 17 points and five assists.

Eaton shot over 60 percent (11-18) from the floor in the two games, including 4-of-5 from 3-point range. He was 16-18 from the free throw line, including 14-of-16 versus Baylor. The 14 free throws made was the most by an OSU player since 1994.

I thnk Eaton's play this week was as instrumental as anyone in the Pokes two impressive wins. Glad to see him getting some recognition.

If Eaton can continue to perform at his recent level, Pokes could still make a run at an NIT bid.

I may be a minority here but i always thought Eaton was good player who just didnt realize his potential. If Eaton can keep it up then he will help turn the season around. I heard a interview with Eaton before the game he seems like a good kid.

I hate that we're having to "hope" for an NIT bid, but at this point in the season I think it could actually be something to be at least somewhat excited about. And heck, we might even win a game in it this time around... :rolleyes:

You may be right, but I'm still holding out hope for a run at a birth in the Big Dance!!
