Read the front page of the Clinton Daily news friday night talking about this BIG STOMACH VIRUS that's going around town. Highly contagious, 2-3 days worth of vomiting, etc. Supposedly a really nasty virus. "Hmm, good thing i haven't had it" i think to myself...

BEWARE!

This thing is the debil!

Woke up around 2 am saturday morning throwing my guts up on one end, and the other end had involvement as well. Nothing stopped it. Not the stuff you rub on your wrist, no phenergen, nothing. I spent the entire day yesterday alternating between laying in my bed/hunched over the porcelin queen. This stuff is nasty. At one point, when the dry heaves sat in, i was praying outloud for God to not let me throw up again! You know that feeling...when you absolutely have nothing else left to give.

Made it to the couch this morning, and haven't thrown up in a few hours now. Still nothing to eat/drink, but at least i'm not in the bathroom.

the debil i tell ya...

Hope you are feeling better now.

I feel for you sister. The husband and I had it a couple of weeks ago.....almost exactly the same symptoms you related. As I said then, I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. We had it at the same time, but fortunately it only last about 36 hours for both of us. If it had lasted 3-4 days......I wouldn't have made it. I too prayed....Lord please stop this nonsense!!! :)

Stop kissin' that rat dog, and wash your hands often; that cures everything.:p

I'm much better, thanks! No vomiting since early this afternoon, and right after that happened, it was over. I felt better instantly. WILD! Thirty six hours of hell, and it just goes away as fast as it came on.

I NEVER want to do that again! My tummy/ribs hurts so bad from all that nonsense. I can't even laugh it hurts so bad! YUK. No fun NO FUN.

I actually ate Taco Mayo on friday (was in a hurry) and i figured that was the culprit. That's all i've had to eat since friday, except a few saltine crackers. I'm playing it smart cuz i dang sure don't want to piss off my tummy..lol

Not sure if it's the same, but I've had this nasty one for a lil over two weeks, and for almost all of that, I've had no voice, slight fever off and on,body aches,etc....I haven't slept 2 hours straight since like wed. night,as I'm up almost always on the hour spitting up junk, clearing my throat. My throat is sore and it hurts to swollow. I've been taking musinex, gargelling with salt water, eating mostly crackers and 7up, but yep this is nasty. Now that inventory is over at work,I'll most likely take a half day off and go see a dr. Again,2 weeks of a sore throat and no voice sucks,as I was gonna be the next American Idol :) Oh well,to all who have been batteling this crud,or others going around, get well soon everyone.

Glad you are doing better. My 2 year old Granddaughter was running a fever (102.7) and complaining about her legs and feet along with her arms hurting since Saturday. She wouldn't eat or drink anything either. I had Shari bribe her with her favorite Dora stickers to get her to drink juice. It worked and late last night her fever broke, she drank a lot of juice, and ate some food. I haven't heard anything this morning, so I am assuming she's back to normal. There must be several types of crud going around in Oklahoma right now.

I have drank alot, but still no food. I'm really thirsty, but not hungry at all. I tried some soup, but it had no taste and i really just didn't want to eat it. Maybe some soup today.

I bet i was dehydrated and that's why i am so thirsty. I'm not throwing up, but i still feel a little weak. I've heard of all kinds of virus's going on around here over the last two months, but didn't think i'd get one. I'm just REALLY hoping my mom doesn't get it.

btw, i was scanning the board last night and saw your post with your results Dortha. I almost missed it. I'm really glad things are ok with you. Please still give up those cigs!

I have been down with the flu since Saturday. I know how AnniePokely feels. I have had a low grade temperature but I ache all over. Food tastes like paste. I drink water and try to sleep as much as I can but it is difficult to sleep when your fingers, your shoulders, your arms, your back, your sides, etc. ache. Most of my sleep is taken sitting up in my favorite easychair. Throw a quilt on me and eventually I get tired of enough that I will fall asleep.

The hospitals in my two spheres of influence (Anadarko and Sapulpa) actually had every bed full with all of this sickness going around. Usually, Anadarko has maybe 2 patients..

I, along with several others I know, have had the same thing. I never get sick, but this thing has stayed with me going on 3 weeks now. It's not severe enough to affect my daily activities, but it's definitely noticeable. More of an annoyance than anything.

My two year old granddaughter was hit hard with this thing. At first it was just fever and aches, then all of a sudden the dams burst at both ends. The vomiting was so violent that she would quit breathing. My heart sank when my phone rang after midnight this morning. Everybody knows that is always bad news. Shari called to tell me about this while she was sitting in the ER. She said Lily was still doing all this in the ambulance, and the paramedics didn't seem concerned at all about a two year old not breathing. Go figure.

Well i didn't go to work today. I'm still in my jammies, just feeling like crap. I've never heard of so many people being sick with some type of bug. It was on the news last night about schools in Okla having so many kids out that they considered closing the schools.

Unreal.

I have a friend who teaches in Edmond. When I talked to her on Monday she was sick....again.....this is her third time since before Christmas to have this stomach virus/flu bug. I'm guessing she keeps getting it from the kids at school. She said since Christmas break she has averaged 5 kids absent each day from just her class.

Hubby and I have had it once and DO NOT want to get it again!!!! It is a nasty bug!!

Those of you with it now.....hang in there.

On a good note, my Mom mentioned that Lily has it. She is actually starting to feel better(at least she acts like it). On the down side, I woke up this morning and felt like a mack truck just ran me over. Both ends, this sucks. I can't get warm. Poor Lily is running around in a diaper and a long, long tshirt because I cranked the heat up. It doesn't matter what I put it at, I just can't get warm. I ache all over.

I've heard that there is some really nasty stuff going around here, but didn't think either Lily or myself would get it because I've tried to stay at home as much as possible to avoid this very thing. With her seizure medication, there is a lot of meds that she can't take, so I try to take the precautions to keep her from getting sick. Whole heck of a lot of good that did us. LOL

Then I found out my neighbor across the street has it, (yes Mom Stephanie). She said she was feeling fine. She was getting ready for work this morning and boom. It knocked her over. This crap is crazy.

I asked my best friends husband if he would possibly stop by the store for me. I had tried this morning to go to Wally World. I wanted to get Lily some popsicles(and now me too) and get her some butt paste for that tushie. I didn't make it half way down the street before I had to turn around and come back home. But, Mike was gracious enough to go get me popsicles and the butt paste. He is such a sweetheart.

Well, I think I tried to tell you that you would be next. Just do for yourself what I told you to do for Lily. Tell Steph I hope she gets better soon too. Give Lily a great big hug and kiss from me and Poppy.

I'm not sure I know what butt paste exactly is.

But I sure hope I never have to use it....

LOL Well, if you don't know what butt paste is then you either don't have children or your children have never had a severe diaper rash. It's basically just some really good stuff to put on the tushie to help keep the moisture and poo from sticking and aggravating the diaper rash. It's great stuff.

Yes Mom. I know, I know. You told me so. LOL Amazingly enough, though, Lily is actually letting me lay on the couch and isn't demanding my attention constantly. She even came up to me and gave me one of her Valentine's stuffed animals. Then she gave me a kiss on my forehead and said I love you(in the way only she does that is just tooooooo cute.) She even brought me another blanket cuz I was so cold.

I am eating the popsicles(although Lily wants nothing to do with them). They have actually settled my stomach quite a bit. So, for anyone else going through this right now, have someone get you some Blue Bell Bullets. They are fruit flavored and they are helping my nausea.

I am also laying down and trying to rest. Shortly after Lily goes to bed, I will be too.

Huggies and kissies to Lily from yall and to yall from Lily(minus the germs LOL).

My better half is finally feeling a little better. She's been a real trooper this week with me being here in OKC and she having to take care of stuff in Bowling Green. This is the sickest she has been since I've known her the past 12 years. She still has a nasty cough, but at least can eat and keep it down. Yuk. I feel for all of you who have this. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Wife came down with the fever and aches version. 2 kids and I followed in a couple of days. Luckily we started on the Tamiflu early and avoided getting too sick. I also had to deal with a couple of kidney stones on Tuesday & Wednesday. Not fun.

Wife and I have had the stomach thing 3 out of the last 4 years. She works in a hospital and brings all sorts of nasty stuff home. But usually drugs come soon after.
