thinking of "what might have been" if Eaton had played like he has the past two games the entire season?
I mean come on folks.....here is a guy that has literally taken the game over due to his ball control, drive in the paint and either dish off or go to the hoop, or step back for the long range shot, while playing great defense AND running the offense like a QB should. Loving seeing it the past two games, just scratching my head and wondering where it has been up until now.
In the Colorado game at home, he was in a total fog.....and we did much better when Sidorikas spelled him. Lucky win against a terrible team at home.
Then against Baylor and aTm, he has literally taken over and willed us to wins.
Quality wins, with one against a ranked team on the road.
So goes Mr. Eaton, so goes the Cowboys. Makes me wonder whether a coach has anything to do with manufacturing "confidence", or whether that is simply up to an upper classman to decide for himself.
If he has decided it permanently, other teams in the conf tourny better watch out, we will upset some apple carts.

It's been said ad nauseam that the counts against us this season are the lack of a big man and inconsistency at the PG position. If, for some reason, a true burning fire has finally been lit under Eaton's posterior, there's half the battle.
I honestly believe this team isn't that far from great improvement. I haven't liked the recent results, but have hesitated to put the full weight of responsibility on Sean's shoulders, as he has had to deal with some absolutely crappy circumstances in his early career.
I am hopeful that the recent wins will encourage the Cowboy Faithful to show up in full support for the remainder of the scheduled games and beyond.

I agree a quality big man would be nice, but the past two games we have played against very high quality big men (without one ourselves), and the PG position has made the difference.
In college football, you live and die by the QB.....appears to be the same from my vantage point in BB

Good points. How many years did Eddie get it done with no true big man? Plenty, IMO.

Also was said on the TV,that Eaton is streaky depending on how he starts. If he hits his first few shots, look out we're gonna be alright tonight, but if he misses early, has some turnovers, then it's gonna be a long game. Hopefully he gets off to a hot start in every remaining game of his cowboy career.

Here's hoping Eaton gained tons of confidence in the past 2 games and it carries over to every game he plays! :pete:

I don't think that you guys are giving Sean and the coaching staff enough credit...
They said in the post game that the plan was to pull our post players outside so that the Aggie big men had to follow them, and then allow Eaton to drive inside without so much pressure... it worked (and Eaton executed it; and the post players did what was asked of them)...
It's a team sport, and EVERY player has to do their part. Eaton is getting better chances because everybody else is starting to do their part. The wingmen are getting open better, the post players are not fouling out with 3 minutes gone in the game, Byron has an out man (who is open) when he dribbles inside...
Eaton has played great, but I think a lot of it has to do with the other kids playing as their asked and the coaches coming up with a good plan.
I think Sutton said that Dickey developed the scouting report on the Aggies and developed the plan to get their big men out of the paint. It worked.

well I would agree with what you said here about both sports .However there are two bits that i must throw out there . One , rebounding and free throws were not exactly our strenghts of the team earlier.
second, in football ,gundy's first season our wr's were droping passes left and right which made Pena and Donnovan Woods look worse then what they actually were.
Third , when a offensive line is getting a 15 yard unsportsman penalty on almost every play that too kills a qb , any qb for that matter wouldnt survive live with those circustances. so everything you said was right on , i just wanted to hold the guilty parties accontable for our qb's demise that year. (just for the reccord)

Or you could start a Spelling and Grammar Mafia, and beg those former players to tutor you. Hell, I bet BJ Tiger would be willing to tutor you. Surely, he can't be as bad.
And friggin' Helen Hunt? I can name about 97 girls that are hotter and have a better attitude than that ice queen. You sure don't set your sights very high.
