Barry Marc Price arrived on April 10, 1951 and died peacefully in his sleep in the early hours of Monday, February 4, 2008.

He matriculated thru the Midwest City School System and graduated from MWC HS in 1970. Barry was named All-City lineman in 1969 and was All-City again in 1970. He played on the All State Football Team in 1970.

After much debate with Barry Switzer announcing he was signing with OU, Barry decided to attend OSU where he would be allowed to wrestle in the off-season. His wrestling, like his football career, began at Eastside Elementary and continued at Jarman Junior High. Wrestling at heavyweight his junior year at MWC, his stats were 22-4 and he was 3rd in the State. His senior year he lost one match and was the only Bomber to win his weight at State.

As a senior in high school, Barry was the state lifting champion - benching more than 450 lbs. In 1972, the state champ was lifting 470 lbs, but Barry was already lifting 515. His goal was 600 lbs.

In 1971, he led OSU linemen with 84 tackles. Barry made 14 tackles behind the line of scrimmage for 64 yards in losses, recovering 3 fumbles and blocked a kick. His college career in both sports continued and was named National Wrestling Champion and Honorary Co-Captain of the football team to name a few.

One of my all-time favorites. I have that same autographed photo of Barry on the brand-new AstroTurf, and I watched him wrestle many times when I was a kid. Condolences to the family, extended through the family of O-State alumni.
