since I am shopping on my own these days, this crossed my mind a few days ago when I was picking out some lemons the other day that how many other "dirty" hands have touch these lemons; so I started just squeezing the juice into my ice tea and throwing lemon away

Just think, if ignorance didn't prevail food irradiation would all but eliminate food-bourne illness...

I agree but irradiation kills everything THEN but I do not think it keeps on killing. Hence, once in the store and how many dirty hands have pick over the lemons?

Or you could just wash them. :p

Just put some damned bleach in the rinse/wash water. When your immune system is in the tank ala "chemo", that's how you prevent an infection from "raw" veggies, etc. If you need the dosage, try Google.

Why not just buy bottled Lemon Juice like I do for cooking and my hot tea?

Because a bottle is not convenient to carry around and the yellow wedge looks pretty.

28% of all life on this planet, by total mass, is bacteria. You may as well adapt to the little buggers cause you ain't getting away from them. :D

That's why God gave us an immune system.

So we could have peace of mind when there are lemons in our tea. ;)
