I just took my 13 year old daughter to the doctor today because she has been complaining about her arms and neck being sore since last Friday. She is not a complainer and for her to tell me that she is hurting she must be in pain. Doctor could not find anything immediately. She does have a virus that she got a script for, but he also wanted to run blood work for her aching arms and shoulders. My girlfriend has fibro and she is concerned that is what my daughter might have. We won't get the tests results for a few days. I will be on pins and needles until then. Just being a concerned father.

I got good news about her blood work. She does not have any type of major illness. The doctors are still not sure what is causing her all the pain in her arms, neck and back. The doctor referred us to a pediatric specialist. We are setting up an appointment as soon as possible. She has not been to school the last two days due to the pain in her neck and back. Took her back to the doctor this morning because she is still hurting. The doctor said he would hate to label her as having fibro, but right now he would like to have her see a specialist. I will keep you all updated. Thank you so much for the prayers for her! Great to have the Cowboy family praying for her.

I'm sorry to always reply to these threads so late but you can't deny the power of prayer. I'll say mine for her.
Hopefully it's nothing serious.

I'm glad they didn't find anything and I pray she doesn't have fibro.
I also pray you don't have to wait too long for the dr. appt.
Prayers that she feels better very soon and it is nothing serious. :)

I just wanted to give everyone a quick update on my daughter. She has missed school most of this week. We have gone to the emergency room and to the doctor again since my last post. They ran all types of blood work on her. She does not have cancer or flu. They still do not know what is causing her severe aches and pains. We have an appointment this Saturday with a pediatric rheumatologist. I am guessing that he will recommend running a bunch more tests above and beyond what has already been ran. I am starting to get really concerned for her because it is now starting to affect her eyesight. I just hope and pray that it is not anything serious. Please continue to pray for her. It is truly appreciated!

All this stuff on the board with the kids is just so heartbreaking to me.
I hope they find out what is wrong with her, and quickly. I don't want her to ache a second longer than she needs to. I'm praying for you, and your family, very hard.

Continued prayers being sent your way for them to find the source of her pain.
I know this may sound odd, and they may have alredy checked, but have they check her jaw? TMJ can cause head, neck, and shoulder pain.

Ditto on the continued prayers.
I have TMJ myself and can't remember when I haven't suffered with it. I've had this the majority of my life. Please ask if they have checked her jaw.
That poor baby. I'll keep up the praying.

I have a friend whose mom has fibro. That is a rough disease to have, and I am glad she doesn't have that.
Keep the faith, bro ... they'll figure it out!

Fibromyalgia is a diagnosis of exclusion. That don't run a test for it, because in the medical community there is debate over whether it isn't just a psychological issue. No tests exist. Make sure they check for RA, thyroid, and lupus. Describe her visual changes. If she has a pituitary tumor this can cause visual problems as well as a wide variety of "downstream" effects.

We went to the Rheumantoid specialist yesterday and did not get any real answers as to what is causing her pain. He could not find anything wrong with her range of motion. He said she had normal range of motion for someone her age. He recommended that we get her eyes checked because that could be causing some of the trouble. I will be setting up that appointment this week. Her pain seems to be subsiding some. We shall see what the eye doctor says next. Thanks again for all the prayers!
