NORMAN (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Norman+%28Oklahoma%29&CATEGORY=CITY) — Landry Jones (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Landry+Jones&CATEGORY=PERSON) will start for Oklahoma against Miami (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Miami&CATEGORY=CITY) on Saturday. Injured Heisman winner (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Heisman+Trophy&CATEGORY=MISC) Sam Bradford (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Sam+Bradford&CATEGORY=PERSON) had been practicing throughout the week, but coach Bob Stoops (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Bob+Stoops&CATEGORY=PERSON) said the junior hadn't progressed enough to start.

OU quarterback Landry Jones will start against Miami on Saturday. There was speculation that last year's Heisman Trophy winner, Sam Bradford, would make his return from a shoulder injury. PHOTO BY CHRIS LANDSBERGER, The Oklahoman.
"Sam has made daily progress, but we don't feel like he's quite where he needs to be yet," Stoops said in a release. "Our team has a lot of confidence in Landry's ability and we're looking forward to going into the game with him at quarterback. Our approach will be the same that it has been in the last two games." Bradford sprained his throwing shoulder in the Sooners (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Oklahoma+Sooners+%28Football%29&CATEGORY=ORGANIZATION) opening-game loss to BYU on Sept. 5.
No word was given on Bradford's availability for next week. Stoops told ESPN (http://www.newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=ESPN+Inc.&CATEGORY=COMPANY) on Thursday that Bradford probably would not dress out against the Hurricanes.
The No. 8 Sooners will play No. 17 Miami in Land Shark Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. The game will be televised on ABC.
