Oklahoma State at UC Davis
When: 2 p.m. Sunday
Where: The Pavilion, Davis, Calif.
Lineups (OSU listed first)
125: Tyler Shinn (12-4) vs. Marcos Orozco (12-6)
133: Coleman Scott (24-3) vs. Francisco Manriquez (6-6)
141: Nathan Morgan (26-1) vs. Nexi Delgado (12-8)
149: Ryan Freeman (13-6) vs. Barrett Abel (13-9)
157: Neil Erisman (15-7) or Newly McSpadden (19-8) vs. Drew Maraglia (8-8)
165: Jake Dieffenbach (16-3) or Kevin Wainscott (13-7) vs. Dustin Noack (1-0)
174: Brandon Mason (22-4) vs. Tyler Bernacchi (5-3)
184: Jack Jensen (9-4) vs. Jeff Prentice (2-3)
197: Clayton Foster (20-8) vs. Abe Otrambo (9-7)
285: Jared Rosholt (24-3) vs. Ricky Alcala (11-6)
Quick look: Oklahoma State (14-2-1) completes its two-match West Coast trip with Sunday's dual at UC Davis. Similar to Friday night's 33-3 win at Oregon, the third-ranked Cowboys are heavily favored in this matchup against the Aggies.
However, despite the 30-point margin of victory over the Ducks, the Cowboys had more than a few matches that were closely contested. Top-ranked 133-pounder Coleman Scott suffered OSU's lone defeat, a 5-3 upset to Ryan Dunn.
"In these type of matches, if you have a 2- or 3-point lead, we need to be stretching it out more. We haven't been doing that a lot," OSU coach John Smith said after the Oregon win. "This team we're going to face Sunday, I saw them in Reno. They're scrappy."
Smith apparently will give redshirt freshman Neil Erisman another opportunity to wrestle at 157 pounds Sunday. Smith liked Erisman's aggressiveness offensively in posting a 12-3 win at Oregon. Erisman replaced regular starter Newly McSpadden for last weekend's match against Minnesota. Smith has not decided if the change will be permanent for the remainder of the season. McSpadden is ranked 14th at 157 pounds according to Amateur Wrestling News, but has lost five of his past seven matches
