Is OSU good enough to beat A&M without Dez, Perrish and Kendall?

Which of the three will be back for the A&M game?

aTm game win or loss will be on the backs of the defense. We will score plenty enough to win regardless of who plays on offense. The question will be whether or not we can stop aTm's newfound offensive prowess.

I'm pretty sure all three of them will be back. From everything that's been reported and I've heard, it sounds like all of them probably could have played this weekend had Oklahoma State really needed them, but there wasn't much sense in putting them on the field against Grambling when they could use the full two weeks to just get over a few minor kinks.

You can also add in Jeremiah Price, he should be back and we will need him.

I really don't think Perrish could've played. Heck, he could barely run and was grimmacing on the field when he jogged to midfield to huddle up with everyone. I've heard Perrish could be out until Homecoming, but that's completlety unofficial.

FWIW, I heard the same thing about Perrish.

I didn't realize A&M opens with five straight home games. So how good is New Mexico, Utah State and UAB? Arkansas is having a down year so I doubt we will find out much about A&M from Arkansas.

They haven't played anyone good yet. Arkansas is better than the 35-7 score this weekend would indicate, but they're not Top 25 caliber either.

If we don't have our major issues fixed for our game with them then I predict a program changing upset for A&M. If we do get the issues solved and play like we are capable of, then we should win easily.

Forgot A&M and Arkansas play at JerryWorld. A&M must be the home team.

New Mexico Currently 0-4 having played:
aTm - lost 6-41
Tulsa - lost 10-44
Air Force - lost 13-37
New Mexico State - Lost 17-20

Utah State Currently 1-2 having played:
Utah - lost 17-35
aTm - lost 30-38
Southern Utah - won 53-34

University of Alabama-Birmingham Currently 1-3 havng played:
Rice - won 44-24
SMU - lost 33-35
Troy - lost 14-27
aTm - lost 19-56

So in answer to your question they have played a total of 3 games against teams that have a combined number of wins of: ...... 2

I agree. Our execution had better be crisp. If we make mistakes like we did against Houston and let them hang around or we have to play from behind, we could very easily end up disappointed again. I, personally, don't think I can handle such a disappointment. I especially cannot handle hearing their fan base crow about it.

Of course, this goes for the majority of our remaining games, also.

Further to my previous post.......

Arkansas currently 1-2 having played:

Missouri State - won 48-10
Georgia - lost 41-52
Alabama - lost 7-35

If you visit the message boards for aTm you will find that many on there believe they will whip Arkansas and then us and their only true test this season will be Tech, uO and Texas. They have penciled in wins against Ark, OSU, K-State, Iowa State, Colorado and Baylor.

When you worship dead dogs that sort of stuff happens to you.

And if you visited our boards before the UH game you would have found many on them that had penciled in wins for every game except the UT game (including OU). There are not going to be very many sure thing games for us this year. With the exception of maybe Baylor (now that Griffin is out), Iowa State and probably CU, we are going to have a slate of games that could go either way depending on which OSU team decides to show up that week.

We are not pulling away from the pack in any way yet. We played well against Georgia, but had some obvious points that needed to improve. Then we went and played Houston and didn't address the core issues and even regressed on some of them. The next week against Rice the issues still looked to be there, but Rice was just not good enough to really exploit them. Grambling State was pointless and tells us absolutely nothing.

Hopefully the team will figure it out over this time off and come out and play like they can for the Big 12 road opener, but I have not seen anything this year that would let us pencil in a win against any halfway decent Big 12 team this year.

UAB can't pass... I wouldn't worry much about the Aggie game... we're going to chew them up and spit them out.

This is one comment from the UAB game that has me somewhat apprehensive.

A&M's Dustin Harris fumbled a punt late in the opening quarter, the Aggies' first lost fumble this season. Zahn kicked a 41-yard field goal to cut A&M's lead to 7-6.

One possible advantage is the bye week. a&m will be coming off what should be a pretty tough physical game and the pokes should be refreshed and will have had an extra week to prepare.

The thing I am interested in seeing is what kind of "attitude" we play with. The defense played with emotion against Georgia, but has not brought much intensity since then, and the offense hasn't really played with much swagger yet (although they didn't really need it against Grambling).

Will they be fired up against the aggies, or are they saving it for later?

They'd better be fired up; later is now.

A$M coming off of a loss against Arkie could either help them or hurt them...

I think the Hogs expose the Aggies, and the Pokes finish them off the next week.

In a way I hope you are wrong CC. I would love to see aTm win at Arkansas because it would be another Big 12 team beating a SEC team.

AND THEN

OSU just humiliate them in their own house the next week.

That's what I would love to see, but you are probably right.

Arky's Defense is absolutely terrible, and aTm has shown an ability to put up big yards against hapless Defenses. I think Arky isn't much better than aTm's first 3 opponents. So, an aTm victory won't tell us much.

aTm will attempt to air it out against us, as they saw what UH was able to do. I don't believe they will be able to run the ball against us at all. And I like it when a team becomes one dimensional.
