With all the job openings and with our defense being so poor, where does everyone think Fedora will be next year?
I know teams have been showing interest in him, even more so than last year, and it can't be rewarding having to be perfect on offense every single game due to having zero faith in the defense. Personally I'd be shocked if he was back next year but stranger things have happened. What does everyone else think?

I think he'll stay if not offered Arkansas or Southern Miss. I dont see him taking Baylor or SMU serious.

I think he would bolt for a decent HC job, and there seems to be many of those available.
Who can blame him?

I'm fairly sure he's been contacted by Southern Miss. Of all the jobs he's been mentioned with that's the one I'd take with SMU coming in second.
After spending the weekend with some Hog supporters I have to say I have no clue who they will hire. They all live in a fairy tale world when it comes to the importance of their program. Now these weren't your run of the mill fans these guys were former AA's and guys worth hundereds of millions of dollars. It was quite a bit of fun to watch them beat the Tigers and still bitch about the HC.

Are they related to the Aggies?

Would SMU be a good fit for him?

No way he goes to SMU-that program is in shambles. He will be in the running for a BCS conference school, maybe even this year. I would hold out for that, as long as its not Baylor!

I think he stays here for 2 more years and then leaves for a fairly decent program that doesn't require much building. I really don't see him taking a Baylor/SMU job anytime soon...

Agreed - He's got an almost ideal system quarterback in Zac Robinson and a good chunk of the offense returning, so I don't see how he could possibly hurt himself by staying another season or two. Not to mention the fact that if Tim Beckman and the defense step up, OSU could potentially be an 8+ win team, and even though the offense has still been putting up numbers, an 8 win season looks a lot better to potential schools than a couple of 6 win seasons.

I think the past 3 years of out defenses output will have alot to do with his decision. Now maybe if he has confidence that things are going to get better on that side of the ball he will stick around but I can see being so fed up with our defensive output that he's ready to take the helm at a school just to be in more control of what's being put there on the other side of the ball.
He doesn't need to stick around to pad his resume anymore, he's had the top offense in the SEC and the Big 12 at his last two coaching stops. Another year isn't going to change how he's looked at.
I saw speculation on another board about him going to Houston. That might be a pretty good fit for him. Sure hope he doesn't!

That'd be a lot better option than either SMU or Baylor at the moment, or at least in my opinion.
At least Houston has some history of winning in recent years, and I'd think he'd be able to contend in Conference-USA almost immediately. Likewise, success in CUSA has obviously led to bigger things for other coaches (Steve Kragthorpe).
I just think SMU, while not a bad job on paper, is career suicide, and Baylor is just a mess.

I think we keep him for another year. Although, with all the openings coming up now, who knows what will happen. Time will tell. I hope we get at least two more years with him. Robinson would definitely benefit from Fedora's system for a couple more seasons as would the rest of the offense.

I'm hoping he stays (like all of us) but I almost have to agree with Inky. The man has proven that he can put an offense together and it will be a good one.
One more year would not hurt him or his reputation. And with some of the schools out there looking to change next year (after giving their coaches one more season to get it together) he may be wise to stay.

I think what we need to be concerned about is a job that hasn't opened up yet (but will when they lose their coach to another school). The one that I can really see him leaving us for is Texas Tech. Think what a dream it would be for him to have the offensive weapons that are in Lubbock. I expect Leach to be leaving for somewhere... Little Rock, the bayou, LA??
