Here's an article stating why there will be no illegal immigrants insured. Maybe not a lie, but certainly not sraightforward. These guys are tricky.

Illegals don't need health insurance. They just go to the emergency room for whatever little issue they have, give whatever name they want or show a fake ID, and then forget about the bill. It's killing hospitals here in TX.

That's just plain crazy and scary! And exactly where is he going to get the money to insure another 12 million? Yeah, I know... us. And do you think it will stop with 12 million? US will get flooded with even more illegals. Nuts.

OH NO!!! You must be a racist to think like that. After we reward the criminals for breaking our immigration laws with full citizenship and free healthcare the thought that it would encourage even more people to sneak across is just crazy! Everyone who wants to be here has already snuck across.

I say if they want to "Buy In" to health insurance, more power to them. Dont give it, but let them buy it. Not that I like people being here illegally, but as it is said, illegals with no insurance cost a lot of money. At least if they have to buy it, it will be less of a drain on the hospitals, because they are paying in instead of just taking.

The issue with that is the Hypocratic oath that physicians take...

I understand that. The problem is that the medical industry is a profit making industry. While Doctors take the oath to help people no matter what, I am pretty certain that there are not too many that would do their job for free. So the problem lies in the business of healthcare and doctors. If it was all not for profit, or was, for lack of a better term, socialized, it would be better. Think, with the Hypocratic Oath, doctors should want it socialized so they can treat everyone the same, no matter who or how much someone makes. They should be pushing more then anyone else to make sure everyone is covered so they can treat everyone and not have to turn people away

I agree and I don't have a good answer for this. The problem with not for profit is that it will keep some of the brightest and best from even going into that field and lets face it that is one field we really need them in. I am from a sales background and I see it everyday, if you give someone a set salary they will spend their time just doing the minimum to get by. Why should they do more? At some level there will be those that will strive because the work consumes them but not enough. There has to be some carrot for most to truly strive for.
