Here's my take. The Coyote is smart, works hard for what he wants, spends his money to support what is apparently the only store around, (ACME) and only wants to someday reap a reward for all his hard work and investment. That damn road runner on the other hand just cruises around doing nothin. He'd probably starve if the Coyote didn't always put food in his traps. It's a complete turnaround on the ol' ant and the grasshopper parable. That bird is a drain on society.
