Thanks to Steve Sturgeon (PistolPete2002) for the following information.

I hope the text in the images are legible. I will see what I can do.

Gundy, Oklahoma State Unveil 2008 Signing Class

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State head football coach Mike Gundy has announced that 27 student-athletes have signed national letters of intent to join the Cowboy program. The new class includes 19 high school players and eight from the junior-college ranks.

The incoming class includes eight prospects (seven junior college players and one from the high school ranks) that enrolled at OSU in January and are attending classes in Stillwater during the spring semester. Four of those players were junior college All-America selections and three were rated among the top 30 two-year players in the country.

The newest group of Cowboys features eight players who were named a prep or junior college All-American, eight players who were among the top 100 in the state of Texas, three members of Texas Football Magazine’s Super Team and the nation’s top-rated kicker. All four Oklahomans who signed with the Cowboys on Wednesday were All-America honorees.

“Obviously it’s a large class with a large number of mid-year enrollees,” Gundy said. “We are expecting the players on campus now to come in and have an impact, especially on defense. Because we were able to count three scholarships toward last year, we were still able to sign a very big (19) high school class. We would not have signed eight junior-college players if our class size had been smaller.”

So what do we do with the final scholarship that is available?

Thanks for posting Ben, I didn't have any clue on how to post that. I guess if people want to read it better I could email it to them.

I like what we have done at the safety, LB, and running back positions.... would have liked to have seen a big name QB to be able to redshirt and groom for the future...

Wondering why they spent 3 letters of intent on Tight Ends... kinda high for one position... assuming we have few young tight ends on the team...

Surely one of those Letters of Intent could have gone to spano (QB) ???

We got a young QB that they are grooming... he just walked on because baseball is paying his way... Weeden.

As far as the TEs go you assumption is wrong. We only have 1 TE on campus that is for sure next year. With Pettigrew questionable with the legal issues we only have Wilson Youman and he hasn't played a snap yet. It is also possible that at least one these recruits ends up at another position (ala Charlie Johnson).

As far as Spano goes we told him he could have a letter of intent. He just decided he couldn't wait and changed to Nebraska. So don't believe any other misreportings that he didn't have a scholly because he did. Just not one in January when he wanted it.

Why is my assumption wrong.. I said I assume we have few tight ends, few meaning not very many... you are agreeing with me...

Oh wait you probably read it wrong... it doesn't say I assume we have a few tight ends...

OSUpyscho... also thanks for the information on spano... i have always heard and read that we didn't have a scholly for him... I guess the whole ordeal confused a lot of people.

I did read it wrong, my apologies. I also agree that the Spano thing was blown way out of proportion. Basically someone didn't graduate early and thus we did not have a scholly for Spano to come in early. Instead he would have to come in like the rest of the players. He didn't like this and left. Adrian Richards was fine with it and will join us when the others do.
