I've only been to one the 25 year one. I didn't learn much from it. They guys who were my buddies were still my buddies and the A-holes were still A-holes. I'm sure other people have more interesting stories from reunions. Let's hear them?

The link below is an excellent skit performed at a reunion. My reunion didn't have anyone this clever.

I've purposely skipped all mine.

The people I liked in High School, I see occasionally. I have no desire to go meet up with the idiots I have not missed.

was a guy in my highschool class who was 5'4" and 100 lbs soaking wet and feminine as hell. We were all sure he was gay. Nobody heard from between graduation and our 20 year reunion. He showed up as a 6'2", built well, handsome, with beautiful wife and kids..........and he was a Navy Top Gun aviator. Holy Crap, the whole class couldn't believe it.

Missed the 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 reunion. My bet is that I will never attend one.

My 10 year is coming up next year, I really don't think I'm going to go. I have a buddy that will try to make me, for what ever reason he seems to like to keep up with what all our HS classmates are up to.

Anyone have any good reasons I should go next year?

I have the same type of good friend. I was staining bookcases on my driveway one late afternoon and had no intention of going. It was my 20th. He come by my home and convenience me to come even though I had not registered.

An old friend of mine told me years ago about HS reunions. She said the 10th is all about who looks good, the 20th is all about who's made the most money, and by the 30th all that's gone away and you're just happy to see old friends. MY 30th is coming up in a month or two. I may actually go to it, I missed the first two. Intentionally.

I didn't give a second thought about skipping my 10th and nothing will change for the rest.

I've been to all of mine, and we all had such a great time at the 10th that we had a 15th.

Played golf with some guys I played golf with all the time in school that I hadn't seen in many years, woke up with a couple of killer hangovers, and took home the plaque for "grayest" hair. A large time was had by all.

My 30th is next year and if I can I'll go. Wouldn't miss it for the world.

Same here. We've had some really good times at each one.

They kind of are what you make of them. If you go with a negative attitude, play wallflower and leave early, I can see that they're probably a drag.

But if you hook up with some old seldom-seen friends, get your drink on, play some drunk golf, laugh about old times, and hit the Waffle House at 3 in the morning...fun stuff.

I guess for me, all my friends that I hung out with in high school, I still talk to.

My best friend from high school has always given me crap about not attending our high school reunions. I think I attended two (5, 10). The way I saw it was I still got to see him when he came to Stillwater (he and his wife would come over to the house) and since I really didn't keep up with anyone else or anyone kept up with me over the years it was no biggie. But he would really try to guilt me into going and it got old at times and we would even fight about it. The difference between him and me was he grew up in Stillwater and had known his classmates and grown up with them. I only went to SHS three years. He just thought it was a sin not to come back and see how everyone was doing. Me, I could care less. And, obviously, he was more social than me and would remember everyone. I'm lucky to remember what I ate for breakfast most days let alone someone I haven't seen in 20 years.

Now, after 35 years, I have volunteered to be part of the reunion committee. Don't ask me why. I have no idea. Maybe I felt after 35 years everyone would be like me and not remember anything. Ha!

I got a phone call from my best friend one night asking when was the reunion. I told him and he said, "I don't think I can come." I told him to stay right there. I was driving up to beat the crap out of him for giving hell for 35 years and then not showing up when I finally decide to go. Course, he was kidding but I may still hit him when I see him.

My HS class is doing a 15th the weekend of the Grambling game. Unfortunately, I'm not going to make it.

When we went to our 10th we had no kids and now we have 2 (soon to be 3). A lot of my friends from HS follow Aidan's story on the blog and have never met him. I'll definitely go to my 20th or 25th, whichever comes first.

I know that  I meant that if there isn't a 20-year reunion, I'd obviously go to the 25-year reunion :)

OK ... just slap the sense back into me ... :thwak:
