Those rankings came from the Blitz and I understood at that point they were pure speculation

Yeah, but they are out now in print Ben. I don't know where JimBob got his.

Goons are 11.

May not be speculation since they were correct!
Or your friend may be reporting on what they said on the blitz since its the same scenario.

It seems it all may be speculation, since it doesnt look like the polls are out yet.

As I said yesterday, I doubt we see polls till all the games of week 1 are over. With Miami & Florida State playing tonight, I wont expect the polls till tomorrow.

We will see.

True, but if it came from The Deano I have learned to take it with a grain of salt the size of the BOK Tower

I think the only print edition the rankings are in, is Toni's friends text.

It would be updated here before it would be in the paper.

OK ... just saw this per http://www.okstate.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/090709aad.html:

Hanging Ten
Oklahoma State is in the Associated Press top 10 for the second straight week as the Cowboys figure to climb from ninth after the win over No. 13 Georgia. The AP poll will not be released until Monday due to Labor Day games. OSU is 3-2 as a member of the top 10 under Mike Gundy (http://www.okstate.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/gundy_mike00.html).

OSU is 3-2 as a member of the top 10 under ]Mike Gundy.

That number on the left should go up big this year.

There are still games to be played today (monday) they aren't going to relase polls until tomorrow.

As far as the sports blitz poll, that poll is taken from people that work for the 2 stations, it's just their internal poll.

I don't get how the AP poll could knock Florida State out of the Top 25. That is a very talented team that barely lost to Miami. I'd leave KU out of the Top 25 and keep Florida State in.

I'm satisfied with our ranking but I have to call B___S___ on the USC over Alabama ranking.

Alabama played Virginia Tech, a top ten ranked team, and won. USC played San Jose State (?) and won. Yet USC gets # 3 and Bama gets #4.

Alabama needs more Large cities in their state to negate the bias of the west coast media.

Oh and it is good to see the uO fell like they did.

Suicide watch is on in goonerville.

I'll agree with the BS call on USC holding at #3, but I also can see why they held. They won handily against a team they were supposed to beat. The one thing Bama got that USC didn't, though, was 1st place votes. If they had been able to more handily beat VT, I think they would have got enough 1st place votes to overtake USC's media man-love.

Well the USC love will be proved wrong or right come this weekend with them facing Ohio State.

Glad to see Ohio St. not moving up for their single digit victory over Navy.

Bama beat a good V-Tech team on a neutral site, but pollsters will still be leery after their collapse against Utah.

I don't think they will drop unless they lose. Even a 1-point victory will keep them at #3

I don't see a win moving us up this week, but by how many points do we need to beat Houston to stay in the top 5?
