Le Dell is having "scrolling" spasms, page/lines jumping up/down, so bad at times, I can't hit a topic to open it. Beating the mouse sometimes helps, but even that isn't working very well. It's been bad the last couple of days. Any "fix it" ideas short of getting the .44 Mag out and capping it?

If beating the mouse helps, it might be the mouse. Try using a different one and see if that helps. I've never heard of scrolling issues being a part of an OS problem, though nothing is impossible.

Thank's, I'll try a new one. Now, I can sit back and wait on the "peanut gallery" to chime in with some unusual solutions.:D

That sounds exactly like a broken mouse. Now may I have my peanut?

JimBob:

Put the beer down. Put it down and step away from it slowly. Remember too much beer can cause double vision and hallucinations. Just put the beer down and step away quietly.

Too busy to come up with new material. Today was the hump day, JB. 13 down, 12 to go.

JimBob, if replacing the mouse doesn't work I have a couple of additional suggestions based on my experiences over the years.

#1 - Try rebooting if it has been awhile. I've left my office PC on for months and seen a similar type problem.
#2 - Check your free hard drive space. If you're about 75% full or more, delete some stuff and then go to step #3.
#3 - Defrag your hard drive. A badly fragmented hard drive will cause Windows to thrash really badly and make it appear that the system is dying. Depending on the size of your hard drive and the fragmentation, it could take at least 8-10 hours to complete (maybe more).
#4 - Make sure your system fan is running and the fan is clean. A slow or failing fan can cause the motherboard to overheat. Also, a lot of dust in your system will also cause it to overheat. Overheating can cause a lot of strange problems.

Hope this helps.:)

If it is dusty this is how you wash your computer to make it new!

step 1) unplug all cables and open the case to the cpu.
step 2) fill bath tub with water
step 3) place cpu in water and use your hand to get the dust out. Do not use a rag or soap.

step4) remove from water and dump all the water out.
step5) let air dry for 24 hrs
step6) replace cpu cover and plug all cables back in.
step7) power up
step8) when you see nothing or hear a popping sound unplug
step9) call ins co and say lighting hit it
step10) buy a new computer!
