For the remainder of the basketball season Mike Hatch (http://newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Mike+Hatch&CATEGORY=PERSON), formerly Oklahoma State (http://newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Oklahoma+State+University&CATEGORY=ORGANIZATION)’s director of student-athlete development, will take over Kyle Keller’s responsibilities as an OSU (http://newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Oklahoma+State+University&CATEGORY=ORGANIZATION) assistant coach. Keller remains on the staff, but not as one of the three full-time assistants
"(Keller’s) wife has been ill a lot this year and we just felt like he wasn’t going to be able to devote as much time to scouting and recruiting,” OSU (http://newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Oklahoma+State+University&CATEGORY=ORGANIZATION) coach Sean Sutton (http://newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Sean+Sutton&CATEGORY=PERSON) said. “Kyle’s been really valuable to this program ⦠and very loyal and hard-working.”
Hatch (http://newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Mike+Hatch&CATEGORY=PERSON), a former high school coach from the Fort Worth area, joined the staff prior to the 2006-07 season. He is the father of senior Tyler Hatch (http://newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Tyler+Hatch&CATEGORY=PERSON), who walked onto the team last year.
Keller has been part of the OSU (http://newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Oklahoma+State+University&CATEGORY=ORGANIZATION) staff for the last nine years, four as the director of basketball operations. Sutton (http://newsok.com/keysearch/?er=1&CANONICAL=Sean+Sutton&CATEGORY=PERSON) said he will re-evaluate the situation in March.
