Anyone getting a stomach virus that is going around? My wife barely made it home from work last night, and about 2 hours later we were both in seperate bathrooms puking our guts out. We both have been praying to the porcelain god all night. From both ends if you know what I mean.

This thing hit us like a mack truck. Has anyone had it? If so how long does it last?:(

Oh please no.

I woke up feeling a little queasy, but mine might be some medication i'm on. I'm hoping so anyway.

I'm leaving for Vegas day after tomorrow! I can't get sick now.

I don't know about over there in Oklahoma but two entirely different bugs have hit Memphis and they have caused a lot of missed school for kids in the area and missed work by adults.

Bug 1) Fever, sinus congestion, coughing, sore throat but NOTHING in the chest. Average time: 2-3 days.

Bug 2) A severe case of the Green Apple Quick Steps like you are describing. A virtual fountain from both ends, dehydration, cramps, nausea. Average time: 3 days to 2 weeks. Several students have had to be hospitalized due to dehydration with this one.

One of my coworkers got the 2nd one and told us of eating Imodium tablets for 2 days. He missed 4 days of work total.

Good luck with shaking this thing. I feel for you.

I never get sick...I said that on an earlier thread. Well, I got this stomach thing last tuesday about 6am at work. Got sick 3 times before noon, ran a fever until 7pm that evening...next morning went to work, I was weak, but did all right. It was a 24 hour bug I guess. Just glad I wasn't squirting out both ends like many have been dealing with, lol.

All that has gone around here is the upper respitory virus. Half my office was out sick with it - ran a fever for 4 days, congestion, coughing, no appetite, etc. Just now starting to feel better after about 10 days.

Barryrules, I'm curious...did any of the folks who got sick get their flu shots? I wonder how effective those things are.

My daughter's first puking was about 4 am last Thursday. Probably about 3 more of those before 9 am, adding diarrhea. She also ran fever of about 100 most of the day. We didn't let her eat anything Thursday. By Friday afternoon she was feeling better and I gave her some soup which she kept down. Saturday she was weak but pretty much back to normal, ate normally, just not as much. Lots of classmates out with the same thing.

We kept spraying Lysol and Clorox-wiping everything, and so far, my wife and I are bug-free...

Good news is it passed (and I use the term loosely like my stools) fairly quickly. Was pretty much pukes and poops and then sleep all day and it was gone. Like a 24 or 36 hour bug. Nothing in the world you can do about it, either. My boy was on heavy antibiotics for some pink eye he got from day care and he still got this. Just deal with it, drink lots of water, take some tylenol pm or nyquil and sleep it off while you sweat under 3 or 4 heavy blankets.

I was on my back for four days with the crud, with nausa and stomach problems for day two and three. I made it back to class on day five, but it was another four or five days before I was 100%.

I went to the gym Monday night before this hit, and happened to weigh myself before I left. About 4 am I was curious at the volume tht was coming out of my body, so I weighed myself again. I had pooped and puke out 6 pounds. Not the way I want to lose weight.

Its been a full 24 hours and both my wife and I are still down. We've eaten a total of 1 grilled cheese sandwich and 2 sprites each. The puking has stopped, but not the other end.

Just seeing food commercials makes me want to puke. I'd give anything for a head cold. At least I could eat and my butt wouldnt be so sore:D

I might be able to hande this for three days but two weeks YIKES!!

Fortunately LandscapePoke and I are better today. I managed to make it to work. Although I'm still weak and tired, I'm pretty sure the worst of it is over. I would not wish this stuff on my worst enemy. I feel like someone took a baseball bat and hit me across the back and gut.

Now to wash on the sheets, quilts, towels, etc used the last couple of days and Lysol down the house. I DO NOT want a repeat of this stuff!!!
