OSU Notebook: Double trouble

OSU lost despite getting a double-double from a player for the first time this season. Freshman center Ibrahima Thomas scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, most by a Cowboy this season. Thomas scored 32 points in two games against the Red Raiders. He made 7-of-10 field goal attempts Saturday and was the only OSU player to shoot .500 or better from the field. His teammates combined to shoot 13-of-45.
Missing person: Freshman post player Martavius Adams did not get off the bench against Tech. Sutton said it was because Thomas was playing well and not because of anything Adams had done.
Bombs away: OSU made just 6-of-31 shots from 3-point range. The Cowboys set a series record for 3-point attempts.
"We took entirely too many 3-point shots," coach Sean Sutton said. "We didn't go inside enough. We didn't drive the ball enough and took the easy way out and settled for jump shots and that's not going to win many games on the road."
Something to prove: Red Raider freshman point guard John Roberson led all scorers with 20 points. Bothered by foul trouble, he was 1-of-8 from the field and scored two points in a loss to OSU at Stillwater.
"I thought Roberson played much, much better than he played at Oklahoma State," coach Bob Knight said. "That was his first game on the road as a Big 12 player and they just ate him alive up there."
Targeted: OSU sophomore guard Obi Muonelo scored 21 points and made five treys when the Cowboys beat the Red Raiders in Stillwater. Did Muonelo get a little extra attention in the scouting report this time?
"We just made a complete effort as a team to stop him and make it hard for him to get good looks at the bucket," Roberson said.
Muonelo scored eight points on 2-of-7 shooting.
Low ball: OSU scored 24 first-half points against Tech. The Cowboys haven't scored fewer in a half against a Big 12 opponent since scoring 23 in the first half of a regular season finale at Nebraska last season.
Cowboy exposure: OSU played in a fourth consecutive ESPN-televised game.
