In focus: Georgia preparing for Zac

Apparently, it takes three people to imitate Zac Robinson. At least that’s what the Georgia coaching staff believes.

According to a report in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the Bulldogs have started preparing for the season opener on Sept. 5 at Boone Pickens Stadium. And they’re using three players to mimic Robinson’s unique talents.

"I hope the scouts — the guys who are representing Oklahoma State — give us a really good look and help us,” Georgia coach Mark Richt told the newspaper.

Senior quarterback Jonathan Batson, freshman quarterback Zach Mettenberger and senior receiver Vernon Spellman are each playing Robinson’s role on the scout team as Georgia prepares for the OSU senior quarterback.

Logan Gray is probably the only QB we've got that comes close athletically to Zac, but Logan is the #2 guy and you don't want him running scout team.

Freshman Aaron Murray is pretty athletic and is also playing the role of Zac in practice.


UGA had their final scrimmage yesterday, practicing 1's vs. the scout team. The 1's won it 27-24 but the scout team was spotted 21pts before the opening kickoff. They only played 1 half and no stats were released.
