Too bad I won't be using mine. :( My wife has some cancer in, (on?) her thyroid and we're going in for the second surgery on either on the 1st or the 4th. (Depending on the surgeons schedule). They took out half of her thyroid about a week ago and thought they'd got it all, but there are some pinpoint spots they found on the other half so it's chop, chop and be done with it. Thr DR. says it's contained within her thyroid so if they remove that there will be no need for radiation, etc. So it's a good bad thing.
I won't even be watching it on my HD. I'll be in the hospital sitting in one of those uncomfortable chairs and watching the whopping 19" bolted to the ceiling with that nasty sound like a drive through ordering speaker and fuzzy picture. Hey... at least it's on TV!
OH CRAP and NO BEER! The horror...the horror....
And one more thing. Don't hit me up for the tickets. My dad's girlfriend has a sister and no more than 5 minutes after i told my dad I couldn't make it she was on the phone and the sister her husband are using them. OH yeah... They're huge K-State fans. Go Pokes!

I had two malignant lumps on my thyroid recently. Found them in October, 2008, removed the entire thyroid in January 2009. I had to do radioactive treatment right after. Isolation for 4 days, confined to my bedroom, but that was the absolute worst of the entire process.
I am now on synthroid, the thyroid replacement meds.
I know everything there is to know about thyroid cancer / surgery / what to expect afterwards. Basically, life without thyroid. Beats the alternative!
She will be in my prayers. It was a very scary time for me and I believe without a doubt that prayers helped me get through it in one piece. Tell her to hang in there from someone who knows exactly what she's going through.
God bless

Thanks!! She's tough! By noon the day after the first surgery she was out of the hospital and shopping at Kohls. This one won't be so easy.

My best friend in the world just went through this exact process about 8 weeks ago. She's doing very well.
Lots of prayers will be sent for your wife. Let us know if there's anything we can do to help you out.

The surgeon got an opening for today. They're hacking away on her as we speak, (or whatever). These hospital waiting rooms must be what Ellis island was like back in the '20's. She'll be fine in a couple of hours. Maybe I can make it to the Rice game, Grambling for sure.
