I know the name of the song was Tumbleweed, I'm just trying to figure out who sang it.

Ding ding ding!! You got it.
Tumbleweed, you're living a cowboy's dream
Tumbleweed, freedom is the air you breathe
But if you don't stop long enough
To let yourself fall in love
Tumbleweed, you're gonna end up lonely
You've been riding the range all alone for so long
No one can hold you, the wind is too strong
I'd tell you I love you and ask you to stay
But you're already drifting away
Tumbleweed, you're living a cowboy's dream
Tumbleweed, freedom is the air you breathe
But if you don't stop long enough
To let yourself fall in love
Tumbleweed, you're gonna end up lonely
You won't be broken, you won't be tied down
You drift with the wind barely touching the ground
But late at night out there under the stars
There's an empty place in your arms
Tumbleweed, you're living a cowboy's dream
Tumbleweed, freedom is the air you breathe
But if you don't stop long enough
To let yourself fall in love
Tumbleweed, you're gonna end up lonely
Tumbleweed you're gonna end up lonely

If you're asking me, you're asking the wrong dude. I'm not into all you kids' fancy-shmancy "itunes" and "downloads". Why, back in my day we had cassette tapes that were all scratchy sounding AND WE LIKED IT.

That is an old traditional song recorded by probably hundreds of artists. Search for Sons of the Pioneers for a good version.

I hear ya T.J
I'm still trying to find an 8 track player for my old KISS 8 tracks.
My nephew asked once at our tailgate where the cd went into our radio. I told him it only took cassettes. You could hear crickets chirping at the silence when he said "whats a cassette??"
