NFL fines Panthers RB Goodson, a former A&M star, $7,500 for throat slash
06:55 PM CDT on Friday, August 21, 2009
Associated Press
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The NFL has fined Carolina Panthers running back Mike Goodson $7,500 for making a throat slash gesture after scoring a touchdown in Monday's exhibition game against the New York Giants.
Goodson turned to the crowd following his 14-yard TD run in the second half and put his hand to his throat. He was immediately called for a 15-yard taunting penalty. The NFL fined him Friday for unsportsmanlike conduct.
Goodson is a fourth-round pick from Texas A&M. He's been getting increased work in the preseason with running back Jonathan Stewart sidelined with an Achilles' tendon injury.

Really, a throat slash in an exhibition game? Not so much a punk, but more of just a dummie

Wonder if you would have said that if we had ended up landing that punk recruit instead of A&M?

UGA actually has his brother committed in their class for this year although they don't share a last name. He's a 4-star Safety.

Probably would have. I've been critical of Byron Houston, Dexter Manley, Eddie Sutton, Prentiss Elliot among other Pokes that have goofed up. I'm willing to forgive too. However, I have no allegiance to Goodson and I think he's a punk.

I guess you got your answer didn't you?
Good to know you believe we fans have some standards.

For your sake let's hope that he does not acts like him. He did some shady things on his trip to stillwater, bad enough Gundy sent him packing.

Oh I got some answers, but I really don't believe half of them. Just like we think OU fans all live in trailers, yet no OSU fans have ever set foot in a double wide.

Meh. Our fans have given plenty of grief to homegrown punks. Maybe you just haven't paid attention. No need to call everyone liars though.

JB, I'm pretty sure that he is the coach that the Bennett Hall roomate of my girlfriend at the time claimed to have given the clap. Said roomate loved to party with the football team in general.
